Thalia's POV:
Thalia has always wanted teleportation powers. But this right here isn't what she signed up for. She heard Nico's voice somewhere, but she couldn't see him because everywhere around her looked like a piece of kale.
She blinked and in a half-second, her surroundings changed. All around her were trees and a brick road in front. Percy was right beside her. A emerald light caught one of the trees and Nico stumbled out in front of it.
He almost fell until he grabbed hold of a tree branch.
"You okay?" Percy asked. Nico brushed off his shirt. "I'm fine. But jeez- I think I have a fear of salad now."
Unexpectedly, a loud whinny came from the right. The trio turned their heads at the same time.
Right in front of them were three beautiful white stallions. Thalia had never seen a horse so gorgeous. Their silver-ish manes sparkled like glitter.
"Follow me," Percy said. But Thalia knew better.
"Are you kidding me?" She protested "Those guys could probably be some crazy monster!"
"We can trust them, Thals!" He replied, his jaw clenched. That shut her up. That nickname. It almost unlocked a lost memory. She didn't want to but she walked toward the horses.
When they were at least five feet away, the horses turned their full attention to Percy. It looked as if they were having an intense discussion without talking.
"Um, what is he doing?" Nico asked. "I don't know and I don't want to know," Thalia said.
Percy turned towards them. "Ok, these are actually pegasi. You know, the winged dudes."
"The guys from Greek myth-" Thalia paused. Hold on, you can talk horses?!"
"Yeah. My dad created them once. He was competing against olive trees. Pretty sweet right?"
Oh, we're showing off now, are we? Thalia thought.
"So, " She questioned. "Are they taking us to that library Antheia mentioned?"
"Yeah," Percy replied. He looked like he was about to say something but his eyes driftd towards her hand and he started walking to her. "Is that a backpack?" Thalia didn't have a clue what he has talking about. Then, her hand started to feel very heavy. She looked down and dropped the backpack in surprise.
Since when had that gotten there? Nico picked it up. Their was a card taped to one of the zippers. He grabbed it. "Hey, there is writing on this," He said. "Wait," Percy said. "Is that...Ancient Greek? "We can read it, though," Nico stated. Thalia examaned the paper. She could read it. Guess thats the benefit of being a Greek demigod. She stared at the paper some more and made out something like this:
Dear heroes,
I have given you a supply of everything you need for you may need. Just please, a little ambrosia and nectar at a time. The last time...never mind. And don't rip the net. Britomartis would not be happy. I wish you the best of luck.
May the gods be with you.
A N T H E I A
Ambrosia? Thalia wondered.
Nico unzipped the backpack. There he pulled out three canteens. A bag full of atleast 20 squares with what looked like lemon forsting painted on top. A giant net rapped up. A bag with gold coins that had... a star? A church? Some money. 3 plastic bottles of water. 3 sandwhiches. And some sleepingbags
"This probably isn't enough food, but I guess we have to work with what we got," Percy said.
"Guys," Nico said. "We only have A week to find her scales. We need to get to the library. Now."
He had a point. Plus, it was already sunset.
They all started walking to the horses until they all spread their wings. Thalia froze right there. Wings. Wings meant fly. Fly meant high in the air.
Percy climbed onto his stallion. "You coming?" He asked. She didn't know what to say.
Nico seemed be having trouble with his horse. "How do you work this stupid thing!" His horse nickered.
"What's he saying?" Nico asked. Percy whispered somehting into his ear.
"Wow, Mister Horsie," Nico grumbled. "Aren't you just a ray of sunshine?"
"His name is Theodore."
"Well, now he is Mister Horsie." "Mister Horsie said he would appreciate if you didn't call him Mister Horsie."Percy left Nico to deal with Mister Horsie. "Hey, Theophanes doesn't bite." he stroked the pegasus's mane.
"Whats with all the Theo's?" Nico yelled to nobody in particular.
"It's just like riding on a horse but in air-" Percy started to say.
"No." Thalia said flatly.
