Percy's POV:
The Son of Poseidon.
Those words kept repeating in his head. Was that what all this meant? Was that who he was? Or was he known for more than that? Was it all his dad's fault?
He saw a bright flash of colors.
Then it went back to normal. Almost like he remembered for a second. It dawned on him that he did. His whole life flashed before his eyes in that one small moment.
That part of him that escaped and was longing to be found.
He felt angry. Angry at the gods. What did he ever do? Angry at himself. Why could he only remember for a second? Why not a minute? Angry at himself for hurting others. Oh gods...Annabeth. His girlfriend. The only thing he could remember. What did she feel? Pain. Hurt. Anger. Just like him.
Then he felt helpless. The scales could be anywhere. The camp and his friends. Where even was it? Would they get back? Would he even get his memory back? Would Thalia? Would Nico?
He heard cheering. He heard clapping. He heard the voices of his friends. Thalia and Nico. That snapped him out of his thoughts.
He lowered his fist slowly and same did the crystal clear water. He looked around. Dryads cheering. Satyrs cheering. Myrmidons cheering. Naiads cheering. He looked until he saw his friends.
They looked lost. As if they didn't know what to do. Nico whispered something to Thalia and she nodded.
"Percy! Percy!" the crowd chanted. Little Eeva looked as proud as ever. "Thank you guys, " he finally spoke. "But please, hold your applause." he winced as he said that. He sounded like those singers after a performance.
Percy made his way through the croud, and to his friends.
"Hey, " Nico said as if they were meeting for lunch. "Look guys-" Percy tried to say. "Congrats. You found put your godly parent." He showed no enthusiasm.
"Yeah. Son of Poseidon. Kinda cool."
Thalia spoke, "The Son of Poseidon? You get water powers? That is kinda cool if you ask me."
What was that...resentment in her voice?
"Silence, please!" commanded a voice. All the commotion stopped and It went silent. Standing in front of them was Antheia herself.
"These young heroes have been officially offered a quest by Sycilia Hollow. They will leave around dusk." More clapping from the crowd. "A quest?" Percy heard someone say. "Aw man, I wanted to go on a quest too!"
Antheia walked toward them. "Well, a son of Poseidon. I knew you looked familiar. Come. All of you, sit down."
They walked towards one of the picnic tables.
"Tell me Percy," The goddess said. "Tell me what you felt." Everything all happened so fast that Percy almost forgot. He didn't want to admit it, but it was a goddess he was talking to. "I felt weak. I felt helpless I felt angry." He admitted. "Ah." Antheia said. But her tone turned bitter. She cursed under her breath. "Forgive me for my manners."
"Antheia, " Nico started to say. Then he paused, maybe thinking before he spoke. Smart. "Are you ok?"
"I appreciate your concern, Nico." Her eyes were full of worry. "But I should have known all along. It's Mnemosyne." A shiver ran through Percy's body when she said that name. "My old friend. We've always played cards at the monthly Olympus dinners and-" She stoped herself and her smile faded. "But something happened." Antheia didn't say anymore details.
"She has been toying with young heroes like you. I now realize she is the cause of this." It took a moment for Him to process what she was saying. "This isn't the first time an immortal being has taken away the memory of a hero."
Antheia made an iris grow directly from the middle of the table. "Anyway, " She continued. "We must get you ready for the Misson of Justice."
"Misson of Justice?" Percy asked.
Antheia raised an eyebrow "You are looking for the Scales of Justice, aren't you?"
"Oh right, sorry. Continue.""You three must leave for a quest right away." she turned towards Thalia and pointed to her left hand. "If your weapon of choice is a bow and arrow, you're going to need a quiver."
She rubbed her hands together and on Thalia's back appeared a brown quiver with elegant golden streaks and a silver moon at the top. Inside it was her arrows.
Thalia looked stunned. "I-I don't know what to say. Thank you." Antheia smiled.
The goddess turned toward Nico. "Every half-blood needs a sword. Don't they?"
Nico watched her closely. She started humming and moved her hands in a swirling motion.
Percy thought a giant shadow randomly appeared on the table but that wasn't it. A pitch-black sword with smoke steaming around it appeared in her hands. She handed it to Nico gently.
He started at the sword in his hands in disbelief. He looked at it for a while. Nico didn't seem to completely understand it was for him.
"This is Stygian iron, " He said, with a exciting gleam in his eyes.
"Now before you go, " Antheia said, "Gods cannot interfere with quests. But I must tell you one thing about the Scales. For it to work, it needs a gem that fits right at the top. To be precise, a sapphire."She plucked the petals off a random sunflower. "I won't tell you where or which, but go to the library."
Before anyone could respond, Percy's whole world melted into a puddle of snot. Or the color of grass, that works too.
