Part 7. The First task and a School Dance pt,1

*Time skip*

Today was the day. November 24, the day of the first task and it had to do with dragons. Yes dragons, The deadly creatures that kill some people for fun, Yeah my brother was gonna have to face a real life dragon.
I got changed into a red sweater and Jeans, It was a free day so we didn't have to wear our robes. And went to the great hall I needed to eat before I watch my brother get burnt to a crisp. After I went to the lake to do some reading. And I saw the twins come after me.

"Want to place a bet?" George asked
"Umm no you do realize that you're betting on people's lives right?"
"No we're not, we're betting on a winner." Fred claimed
"You do realize that my brother is one of the champions right?"
"Well of course we do darling" exclaimed Fred
"And don't worry we'll be cheering him on" George said
"No you won't"
"Pardon" both of them said at the same time
"Your going to be cheering on the dragon aren't you"
"She has a point" george claimed
"You know what I think we will cheer on the dragon" Fred stated. I just rolled my eyes and said " I am not going to place a bet so go run along and find someone who will." They shrugged and left. But Fred almost immediately came back.
"I told you I am not going to place a bet" you said, not looking up from your book.
"Well of course not, but I just wanted you to know there are some rumors that McGonagall has news for us after the first task"
"Ok thanks for telling me"
"Ok"
He just hung around the tree you were at after he said that. But he was being quiet and you almost didn't want him to leave. But then I checked the time it was time for the task.

*at the first task*

Krum was first to go and he successfully got his egg, along with fleur, but now it was Cedric's turn. I was on the edge of my seat. He ran out and the dragon didn't notice him at first he took this advantage and ran closer to the egg not making a sound. No one else made one ethier if anyone messed this up and got him killed i swear to god i would personally murder them.

*Cedric's pov (This doesn't follow how he actually got the egg)*

Fleur had just reentered the tent meaning it was my turn. I was scared not gonna lie, I was going to face a dragon. But I knew if I showed that Y/N would notice so I played it cool. I entered and realized the dragon was focusing on something else. I kept this to my advantage. I moved to another rock closer to the egg, this was risky but I moved slowly and quietly.
And then my foot slipped, I fell onto the ground and a few rocks slid away. Good job at being quiet. The dragon immediately looked my way and saw its new prey.

So screw the calm and quiet and run and oh trust me when i say I ran fast. Jumping over rocks and dodging its flame. This dragon was not messing around. I was so close to the egg now only a few more steps and then, boom more fire separating me and the egg. Dang this dragon is not making it easy.

I had to make my way around the cage and so I did, I almost got set on fire multiple times seeing as I never really took cover. But I was fine and with one final step I was there, I took the egg into my hands and made a break for it. Thank god that was over.

*Y/N pov*

Next was Harry, and well I was worried for him I was just relieved Cedric made it out alive. Lost in my thoughts I didn't notice the dragon heading straight towards the stands I moved out of the way just in time.

The dragon flew after Harry and after a few minutes Harry came swooping down and retrieved his egg. Everyone cheered loudly. Charlie and some other people came in and calmed the dragon down and took it away. Now it was time to congratulate our champions, But i would congratulate harry later first I had to find Cedric.
