Months went by. Exams were approaching. Jade and Harry had both made considerable progress with their patronus charms. Draco had yet to make more than a little spark and wondered if it was because he honestly didn't have a happy memory that was strong enough. Crabbe and Goyle practiced for months but neither of them had made any progress; they couldn't even get a spark.

Sirius black had possibly been spotted in hogsmeade so the students were advised not to go, but since it was the last trip of the year people still went. Harry wanted to go but McGonagall annoyingly insisted he stay at the school. Draco had thought about going but since Jade couldn't go because of her age and Harry couldn't go because of Black he decided not to go.

Crabbe and Goyle both went to hogsmeade and as it turns out a bunch of other people went as well, the bad news did not stop anyone.

Harry, Draco, and Jade were outside enjoying a nice walk near the path leading toward Hagrid's hut. They didn't know it but they were in the wrong place to be enjoying the day.

Hermione, Ron, Neville and Ginny were on their way to comfort Hagrid and saw the three slytherins standing around gazing at the forest and talking about how it was nearly the end of the year.

Of course without even realizing it they had set off Hermione's temper because she thought they came out to watch Hagrid's hippogriff be killed. "You just don't know when to quit!" She yells drawing her wand.

The three turn confused toward the gryffindor students.

"Hermione?!" Ron starts.

She approaches them furious. "How dare you come down here!? Just to gloat?! People are hurt because of you?!?" She yells going straight for malfoy.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Draco says backing away. "Watch where you point that?!"

"Like you don't know?!" Hermione growls."buckbeak was labeled a dangerous animal and they sentenced her to death!?"

Harry glances at Jade and sees her hand cover her mouth. He turns toward draco and swears he sees a hint of guilt reflecting in his eyes. He realized though hermione was so livid she hadn't even noticed he felt bad. He made a decision to take out his wand. "Calm down."

The motion hadn't gone unnoticed of course as Ron saw Harry draw his wand and did the same. Pointing at Harry to remind him that should he hex Hermione then he, Ron, would gladly shoot off a spell at Harry in retaliation.

Jade was too upset by the news at first to draw her wand but once she realized Harry needed backup she pulled her wand on Ron, which was met by Neville and Ginny pointing theirs at her.

"You just couldn't let it go could you!" Hermione continues. "You had to add injury to insult!?"

"Have you gone bloody insane granger?!" Draco gasps as he backs into a tall rock. He reaches for his wand but she is too close and he freezes with her wand nearly touching him.

Harry knows Ron is pointing at him but at this moment he knows he can't take his eyes off Hermione. "I think we are going to need some explanation." He says calmly.

"You want an explanation!?" Hermione growls moving her wrist slightly. It scares draco into thinking she is going to hex him and he flinches. "How about this then?! After fighting the trail for the whole school year the minister decided to side with the malfoys?! Buckbeak is sentenced to die in mere hours and it's all his fault because he wouldn't just listen to Hagrid's instructions."

Draco really does feel bad. "I didn't mean for this..."

"Don't you speak?!" She growls.

"Come on Hermione we have to go. He isn't worth it." Ron says.
