Mr. Malfoy smirks a tiny bit and fixes Draco's white shirt collar. "going to stay out of trouble this year Draco?"

"of course father." Draco nods smiling a cocky smile.

"and what do we do if older kids pick on us?" Lucius chuckles.

"hex them black and blue." Draco snickers.

"there's a good boy." He clears his throat and becomes very serious now. "listen... I don't want you to worry about the break out. Death eaters can't get into Hogwarts because of the enchantments so you and Mr. Potter are safer there then even at the manor."

"you're sure that we have nothing to worry about from black?" Draco questions. "he wants Harry dead."

"his loyalty has always been questionable." Lucius frowns. "but there is simply no way he could possibly get into the school."

"Snape is in the school." Draco mumbles.

"yes but Snape is working for us." Lucius grins a bit. "go and learn a lot so your mother will stop whining."

"yes I know." Draco nods. He turns to leave and that's when Lucius sees the scarf for the first time.

"wait." Lucius stops Draco. "where on earth did you get that?"

"oh this?" Draco looks at the scarf and turns a little shade of red. He really hoped his dad wouldn't ask. "it ug... was a gift from the Weasley's for helping out last year."

Lucius frowns. "well I can't say it isn't in good taste." He scoffs. "If you are going to insist on wearing it then I must advise you not tell anywhere it's true origin. You simply tell people you bought it."

Draco nods and boards the train. "I'll write soon." He calls over his shoulder as the door closes.

"see that you do." Lucius says then waits for the train to leave before turning to join the crowd of magical parents leaving the platform.

On board he looks down the now nearly empty hall. "potter." He calls at medium volume.

Harry looks around the corner from the other end of the cart. "this one is all full up. we'll have to try the next set."

Draco nods and follows Harry to the next cart which mostly consists of second year students. They find Jade standing outside one of the rooms pouting. "Jade?" Harry questions.

"oh!?" Jade smiles a little. "why are you guys here?"

"the third year seats are all full up." Harry frowns. "what about you? we're supposed to have sat by now."

Jade looks at the door and frowns. "well this room is mostly empty except for the hobo sleeping all across one of the benches."

"what? A hobo?" Draco questions stepping up to the door. "Let me see?!" he looks inside the seats and frowns. "really? I thought the school had a bit more class." He smirks at his overly funny joke.

Jade sighs. "everywhere else is full but I didn't want to sit in there alone with the stranger."

"that's fine we need a seat too." Harry says looking out the window. "seems the weather is getting a bit bad. We should probably just sit down."

They open the door and shuffle inside. Jade being the smallest sits in the remaining piece of the seat the strange man isn't currently occupying. She hands her suit case to Harry who sets it up on the rack for her. Harry and Draco then sit opposite of jade and the sleeping man in an almost dead silence afraid even the tiniest noise might wake him.
