The following few days are uneventful. Draco searches for opportunity to collect the sample but none arise. Hermione still overly curious continued to dig into Jade's orphanage and in the library she found old newspaper clippings arranged in scrap books of sorts depicting major or traumatic moments in wizarding history. Hermione finds an interesting article she can't wait to share with Harry and Draco.

During lunch that evening everything seems normal. Draco is having a nice chat with his circle of friends unaware that the Gryffindor was on her way over to the table.

"Malfoy." Hermione says placing her hands on the table. "I need to talk to you... now."

"right now?" Draco frowns. "why?"

"it's important." Hermione replies.

Draco stands up. "fine then... I'll be back." He brushes off his robe and follows Hermione into the hall.

"he's been spending an offlay lot of time with her these days." Pansy says.

"I heard they were dating." Faith huffs.

Jade turns to Pansy and Faith eyes wide. "T-that isn't true."

"that isn't what I heard." Faith smirks. "I heard he's got it bad for granger."

Harry frowns. 'now Faith is starting rumors.'

"your lying." Jade retorts. "there's no way!"

Out in the hall Hermione hands the newspaper clipping to Draco. "look at this." She says pointing.

"12 children killed in flood." Draco reads the article out loud. "13 children trapped in mysterious out of nowhere flood. Single survivor Jade Firegem, named by the caretaker, was rushed to hospital in critical condition for treatment. The cause of the strange flood was never discovered."

"she was trapped in a flood in the orphanage where she lived. The flood destroyed hundreds of records and tore apart the inside of the building from top to bottom." Hermione goes on.

"what's this have to do with Jade?" Draco questions. "other than that she's in the paper."

"Malfoy... look closer at this photo." Hermione points. "none of the surrounding building have any water damage at all... this floor only happened inside the orphanage."

"one entire building filled with water?" Draco questions. "that isn't possible..."

"not in the muggle world... unless magic was involved." Hermione frowns. "you don't think she caused the flood?"

Draco thinks about it for a moment. "she has a nightmare that she's drowning... Harry has the same dream." he looks at Hermione. "I'm not sure why Harry is in the dream but it might be that she's repressing the memory of the flood and that's why she keeps having that dream."

"harry is in the dream?" Hermione questions.

"yeah they both say they can hear each other but harry can't see who calls to him." Draco frowns. "I'm not sure what to make of it."

"she must be dreaming a memory." Hermione replies. "some people can repress horrifying moments, but if they don't have the will power the memory can come back as a dream."

"that'd explain why she's terrified of the water." Draco mumbles. "in any case she's fine now." He hands the clip back to Hermione. "this is good to know because it proves her fear of water isn't baseless." He turns to go back through the door When Jade passes them. "oh... Jade." Draco looks at her confused. "done eating already?"

Jade turns to Draco infuriated. "Faith is insufferable!" she growls and then stomps away.

"faith?" Draco questions.
