Chapter Eight: Sirius Encounter

Harry and Draco decided to try to sleep in since it is now the weekend however all hope of a peaceful rest is dashed when Draco is woken up by Jade. "Draco." Jade whispers and shakes him a little. "please wake up."

"what?" Draco huffs and rolls over to face her. "I'm trying to catch up on rest."

"it isn't my fault you stayed up all night looking at the fire place!?" Jade hisses. "you need to march down to Hagrid's and apologize before it's too late."

"why would I do that?" Draco narrows his eyes.

"because today the ministry is coming to kill his creature." Jade grumbles.

Draco frowns. "that isn't my fault I didn't ask for that to happen."

"it's the right thing to do Draco." Jade replies. "I'm going down there to see Hagrid." She starts to leave.

"whatever." Draco rolls over and pulls the covers up over his head. 'the nerve... she wants me to apologize for something I didn't even...' he frowns when he realizes he was mostly his fault that Buckbeak had been in trouble in the first place. "well I didn't do it on purpose." Draco pushes the covers down a little and sees the room is mostly empty except for Harry who is still sleeping.

Draco sits up and looks at the window. "not that I care but... maybe..." he thinks about what Hermione had said to him how he won't ever change. "it's the right thing..." Draco mumbles. After some thought he stands up changes his robes and leaves the room with Harry still sleeping. He leaves the common room and heads for the grounds.

Outside Jade sneaks up behind Draco. "I knew it."

"JADE!?" Draco says surprised nearly jumping out of his skin.

"you're going to apologize right?" Jade smiles.

"what? no!?" Draco turns bright red and keeps walking. "w-why would I apologize for something I didn't do?"

"because you're a nice person deep down." Jade smiles a little walking next to Draco.

"nice person." Draco frowns. "let's make one thing very clear." He glances at Jade. "I am not apologizing."

"then why are you walking all the way down there?" Jade smirks.

"because..." Draco pouts. "because I want to!?"

"if you say so." Jade smiles and puts her hands behind her back. "I'll come with you then."

"whatever." Draco rolls his eyes.

They walk up to the hut and pass by Buckbeak who is sitting in the pumpkin patch.

Draco knock on the door and frowns.

"ye?" Hagrid opens the door and wipes his left eye. "oh... mister malfoy..."

"I..." Draco clinches his fist as he tries to make words happen. "apology." He grumbles.

"apology?" Hagrid repeats confused.

"yes." Draco says taking a deep breath. "I... um... uggg..." he scratches the back of his head. "can I come in?"

"I guess." Hagrid moves aside and Draco and Jade enter.

"thanks." Draco struggles to gather enough words to make an apology happen.

"evening miss firegem." Hagrid nods to Jade.

Jade smiles. "evening Hagrid." She digs the paper of names from her pocket. "but actually I know who my parents are now." She replies.
