I woke up to the sound of my cousin's voice ringing in my ear. He was in Delhi too, and he was inviting me to hang out with him that day. I groggily checked my phone for the time and saw that it was already mid-morning. Sam and I had made tentative plans for the day, but when I tried to reach him, he was already tied up with other commitments. I sighed and agreed to meet my cousin instead.

After a refreshing shower, I got dressed and was just about to step out when my phone buzzed. It was Alizeh, and she had finally arrived to her hometown.

Alizeh: "Hello"

Alizeh: "I just sat in the car, and I am on my way home"

Varun: "Good, reach home safely!"

Alizeh: "What are you doing?"

Varun: "Going to meet my cousin, will hang out with him today"

Alizeh: "Oh nice, why isn't Sam coming?"

Varun: "He said he was busy and I didn't ask him much. Take care and message me as soon as you reach home!"

Alizeh: "Areyy, and yes obviously naa I will message"

Alizeh: "By the way, how are you?"

Varun: "Nice"

Varun: "How are you?"

Alizeh: "Are you sure? you don't sound okay?"

Actually, I wasn't okay, I missed her but I just didn't want to show her that.

Varun: "Why?"

Alizeh: "I will call you when I reach home, as soon as I get free and I am okay"

Varun: "Yes, you know that you can call me anytime and I am okay don't worry"

Alizeh: "Haanji I know, you can too"

Varun: "Have a safe journey"

Alizeh: "Yes, don't worry"

Varun: "Just take care of yourself and stay well!"

Alizeh: "You too baby, and yes I will try and stay well, by the way, tomorrow's plan is still on right?"

Varun: "Yes it is, if you want?"

Alizeh: "Nice and I really want that"

Varun: "Good!"

After a long day out with my cousin, we finally settled down for a late lunch at a nearby eatery. As we chatted and caught up on old times, I couldn't help but feel a sense of longing for Alizeh. But to my surprise, her message came.

Alizeh: "I just reached home now"

Varun: "Oh good"

Alizeh: "Miss you"

Alizeh: "Idiot"

Alizeh: "Gadha"

Alizeh: "Buddhu"

Alizeh: "I love you"

Varun: "Miss you yaar"

Alizeh: "See the snap I have sent you on Snapchat"

My phone buzzed with a notification, and I eagerly picked it up to see a new snap from her. I felt a rush of warmth flood through me as I saw her smiling face, snuggled up in a cozy blanket. She looked so peaceful, so content. And the words on the snap - "I love you" and "I miss you" - made my heart skip a beat. It had been too long since I'd seen her in person, but moments like these made me feel as if she was right here with me.
