That cracking sound reverberated through my soul, shattering what little resolve I had left. It was the last straw, the breaking point. I was done. I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't bear to be used like a disposable pawn in her twisted game any longer. So, I made the decision to put an end to it all. I knew deep down that this day would come. The way it all started was wrong, and we were both to blame for everything that had happened. It was time for us to be held accountable for our actions and accept the consequences that came with it.

Moving on was something I wasn't ready for. I had thought about it, of course, but I never imagined it would happen so soon. This time, there was nothing I could do to stop it. The situation was completely out of my control. From the beginning, it had always been about her, and I had fallen for her twisted games like a fool. This was her checkmate, and she had played me well.

We continued our conversation in the darkness of the night. It was time to confront the inevitable, and I promised myself to end it all, even if it meant ending our friendship. We talked about it, and I could feel the weight of the decision crushing down on me. But it had to be done. It was time to close this chapter of our lives and move on to something new.

Alizeh: "I love him"

Alizeh: "I just can't do it anymore"

Varun: "Then don't do it, I also can't do it anymore, take care Alizeh"

Alizeh: "Sleep, we will talk about it in the morning"

Varun: "Alizeh there is nothing left to talk about anymore. You love him and you don't love me and I get it"

Alizeh: "It's not about if I love you or not, It's about saving my relationship with Kabir in time and it's about lying to him anymore"

Varun: "I just want your safety and happiness. So go Alizeh, save your relationship"

Alizeh: "And I want yours, but I know I can't give it"

Varun: "You wanna be with him so, be with him"

Alizeh: "Yeah"

Varun: "I have to take a step back, so I will, That's it. There's nothing more to say"

Alizeh: "I do too, it's high time I did"

Varun: "Yes"

Alizeh: "I am sorry"

Varun: "Then bye Alizeh, this year had to end with losing a friend."

Alizeh: "You can text me as a friend you know that, I'll always be here, but nothing more than that. You didn't lose a friend, and never will, you just lost someone who could have been more than a friend "

Varun: "Okay Alizeh"

Alizeh: "But I won't text because I don't know if it would be okay"

Varun: "But I hope someday my time will come, and I get it"

Alizeh: "Yeah"

Varun: "But always remember, I love you"

Alizeh: "I will, thanks"

Varun: "So that's it"

Alizeh: "Okay"

Varun: "So, enjoy your life, and stay happy"

Alizeh: "You too, take care"

Varun: "Good Night"

Alizeh: "Good Night"

The night drew to a close, but I was left with frustration and irritation swirling inside of me. I couldn't understand why she did it to me. Was doing that one time before not enough for her? Did our connection mean nothing to her? Had she been lying to me all along? These questions pestered me, but what frustrated me more was that she didn't even have the decency to tell me face-to-face. Instead, she sent a message, leaving me helpless and unable to do anything about it.
