Song is So Cold (The Good Wife Trailer) by Ben Cocks.
This imagine is the second post-war Snape imagine. Also, this is a fem!Potter imagine. Please enjoy!
Hailey's POV
My mind raced as I walked through the battle field that was once my home. Hogwarts had been all but destroyed. The death and destruction were terrible. Ron, Hermione, and I had just watched Severus Snape die, right before he gave me his memories. We had also just heard the Dark Lord's message.
As I walked towards the Great Hall, I wondered who I would find dead...
As it turns out, I would find quite a few people who were dead. Fred...Remus...Tonks...along with so many others. My mind felt like it would collapse. I needed to escape, even it was just for a few minutes. I looked at the vial of tears in my hand.
There was no way that whatever Snape wanted me to know was worse than this nightmare. I slipped upstairs without telling anyone, and quickly made my way to the Headmaster's office. I quickly retrieved the Pensieve and poured in the tears. Snape's tears. I could see the memories forming from where I hovered over it. With a deep breath, I dove in...
The memories around me formed a green field. There were two girls in the middle. I couldn't believe it when I saw that the girl with bright red hair had eyes just like mine.
It was my mother, and that was soon proved when the other girl yelled at her, and called her a freak. I could only assume that she was my Aunt Petunia.
Suddenly, another person appeared. It was a boy my mother's age. He was not very well dressed, and was rather pale. As I watched, I learned that he was a younger Severus Snape. I frowned. He knew my mother? He was her friend? As I watched, his friendship with Lily waxed, before it declined when he insulted her.
I saw him become a Death Eater, and accidentally betray her by telling Voldemort about the prophecy. I saw him become a double agent. And then, I saw something that occurred during my third year, or at the end of it rather...
"Severus," Dumbledore said. "You must save this device for the girl. I sense that it will be our last hope should the others be destroyed as you say the plan is."
Professor Snape took the device and placed it around his neck, hidden under his robes.
"I shall guard it with my life, Headmaster. When the time is right, I will tell her where it is," the Potions Master vowed.
Dumbledore gave him an approving nod.
"And where will you hide it, so that Hailey will have no problem finding it?" he inquired.
Snape gave a sly grin.
"At the place where everything is hidden," he said cryptically.
The memories continued, and I stopped short when I saw that Dumbledore knew about me being a Horcrux and didn't say anything.
I wished that I could have some words with him. It would have been nice to know for sure, even if I already suspected it. After Dumbledore said something about my death being essential, the memories faded out, and I returned to the present...
My heart jolted as I raised my head out of the Pensieve. I had to die. But first, I needed to go to the Room of Requirement where Snape hid the device. I hoped that I would be able to find it, especially since it was on fire less than an hour ago. I guess that I would have to take care of that now, and hope that the device survived. I came across Ron and Hermione sitting on the steps and holding hands. About time, I thought.
"Hey," I said.
Ron and Hermione immediately jumped up.
"Hailey! We thought you went to the forest!" Hermione cried.
I placed a comforting hand on my best friends' shoulder.
"I'm going to go there in a few minutes. But first, I need something from the ROR. Something that Snape left me," I explained sadly.
Hermione gave me a determined nod.
"We'll help you. Just tell us what you need."
I told them about the device, and we immediately made our way to the ROR.
"Are you sure about this, Hailey? Using one of those could mess things up pretty bad..." Ron speculated.
I scoffed.
"How could things get worse than this? Come on!" I called out, picking up the pace.
Thankfully, enough time passed that the Fiendfyre previously there had been snuffed out.
"Come on, we don't have much time!" I encouraged.
We quickly looked through the destroyed room, until I finally saw it. Or rather, what I'm pretty sure was it's container... It was a wooden box. The wood was red wood. It had lilies and does painted all over it. Considering how it was not very damaged, it probably had a plethora of spells protecting.
After climbing up a bit, I finally got my hands on the box. Opening it, I sighed in relief when I found my target.
"Figures he would hide it in something like this. You could never guess unless you knew about my mother," I mumbled.
I shut the box and climbed down to Ron and Hermione.
"I have it. Let's get out of here," I commanded. We went into a secluded classroom. We needed to decide when to use it. I knew that if I went and died, and Hermione used it after Voldemort was defeated, then that could mess too many things up. It was decided that Hermione and I would go now, and Ron would provide us with an alibi here.
"Ready to save some lives, Hermione?" I asked her, placing the long chain of the device around our necks.
She nodded.
"Ready as I'll ever be. Hopefully, we can do some good."
We exchanged nods with Ron, and then I turned the hourglass of the Time-turner back three turns...
