Song is If I Die Young by The Band Perry.
Happy Memorial Day! Today I remember my great-grandfather who was killed in WWII during the Battle of Colmar Pocket in 1945, my maternal grandfather who served in the Air Force, my paternal grandfather who served in the Army for a brief time, my cousin-in-law who is currently serving in the Army, and anyone else who is either currently serving, or has lost someone to the plague of war.
This is the first music-related imagine in this book. These two will be the last I will publish in this book. I hope y'all enjoy it! The reader is a seventh year by the way.

Rosie Jackson's POV

My name is Rosie, and I have cancer. I know, not a great way to start my story, but it is an important fact nonetheless. I am also a muggleborn witch in my seventh year at Hogwarts. I am in Slytherin house. Although I greatly enjoy my magical education, my real passion is music. I desperately wish they have a music class other than choir. Because of my cancer, I am often out of breath, and so am not able to join it. That doesn't stop me from playing my cello whenever I can.

Most people outside of the Headmaster and the teachers did not know about my condition. I have also been able to keep my blood status a secret from everyone but my best friend, a quiet Hufflepuff in my year named Cedric Diggory.
He knew about my condition after coming to the hospital wing, whereupon he happened to overhear me talking to Madam Pomfrey about it. He has been by my side ever since, and for that I will be forever grateful.

Although all of my years at Hogwarts have been filled with exciting happenings, especially since Harry Potter started attending, this year was bound to be the most interesting one yet. Hogwarts was hosting the Tri-wizard Tournament.
When Cedric was picked to be the Hogwarts Champion, I was ecstatic but worried. I didn't want anything to happen to my best friend. As it happened, for the Yule Ball that was taking place during Christmas break, they were having a talent show. I wondered if I should play a song on my cello. There was a particular one I wanted to play.

I had recently received the news that my cancer was terminal, so I would not be in this world for much longer. I wanted to say goodbye to the wizarding world and thank them for everything that they have done for me and taught me.

I found the song I wanted to play, and practiced it until I could do it in my sleep. Before I knew it, the Yule Ball was looming over my head. Cedric had decided to ask me to go with him as friends. I agreed.

When the day of the ball arrived, I dressed in my favorite dress, put on a small amount of makeup, grabbed my cello case and sheet music, and made my way to the ball. Once I got there, Professor McGonagall gave me instructions on where to place my things for the talent show.
After storing away my precious cello, I went to find Cedric. Before I found him, however, I was stopped by my Head of House, Professor Snape. He, out of all of the Professors has been there the most, so I was happy to see him.

"Professor Snape. What may I do for you?" I asked him quietly.

He frowned at me.

"How are you feeling? I heard you went to get some sort of x-ray the other day. Is everything alright?" he asked.

I didn't want to tell him the truth, not just yet, but I didn't want to lie either. I just gave him a tired smile.

"I don't know what's going to happen, Professor," I said. "But I am grateful for all that you have done for me."

He gave me a nod. At that point, Professor McGonagall came looking for me, saying I needed to find Cedric. I didn't say another word as she led me away, never seeing the concerned black eyes that followed me.

Once I found Cedric and the other Champions, each with their chosen dates, I quickly joined them. Harry was going with Cho Chang, Victor with a Gryffindor named Hermione Granger, a fourth year, and Fleur was going with someone named Robert.
I mostly stuck with Cedric for the duration of the ball. Not because I wanted to be unfriendly, but I don't want to hurt more people than I have to when I leave this world forever.
