Music blasted loudly from the stereo in Olivia's bathroom as she sat in the sink, brushing makeup onto her face. She continued to lean in and then away from the mirror as she would make minuscule adjustments to her appearance and then view them. Picking up the small tube of lip gloss, she unscrewed the cap and squeezed a generous amount onto her lips. She rubbed her lips together, spreading the gloss across her lips before climbing out of the sink and jumping off the counter. She looked back into the mirror to check her outfit looked all together. She wore a black tube top with a black skirt and floral patterned black tights.

"You know you don't have to get all dressed up and put together for band practice. You're gonna end up rocking out so hard that it's gonna be ruined by the end of rehearsal and then all the time you spent getting ready is going to be pointless." Crystal says as sees the girl so much more dressed up than usual.

She knew that Olivia had band practice because the younger sister would map out her day on the family calendar in the kitchen, not leaving space for anyone else to put anything.

"Oh wait, you're not just dressing up for band practice. You, my little sis, you're trying to look hot for Luke." The older sister realizes, ruffling Olivia's hair.

"Hey! Stop! You're ruining my hair!" The girl shouts, pushing her sister away from her before turning back to the mirror to try to fix her hair. "And I'm not trying to "look hot for Luke", I'm always this made up for band practice. It's just who I am. I like to look good in all situations." Olivia says defensively, folding her arms across her chest when she figures her hair is the best it is going to be.

"Says the girl who went to rehearsal in her pajamas a few weeks ago. You are a total liar. You didn't even try to think of something believable." She stands behind her sister and fixes her hair up a bit more, feeling bad about messing up the hard work. "Also, you don't have to try to impress him. He has known you more than long enough to see you in your pre-makeup days and then, of course, the experimental makeup phase. You don't have to primp yourself up to look attractive to him, he likes you for you." Crystal tries to reassure her sister.

"I know that. With the number of gross things he has seen me do, I'm surprised he even likes me. I would have expected him to be too grossed out of me to find me...attractive?" The tone of her voice going up at the end of the last word, questioning if it was the right word.

Olivia exited her bathroom and picked up a red flannel, one that belonged to her best friend, off the bed, and pulled it over her shoulders before she walked over to her dresser and picked up all her bracelets. She slid each of them over her hands setting them on her wrists. She grabbed her mother's old diamond earrings, which the girl only ever wore on special occasions, from her jewelry box that sat at the back of her dresser.

"Okay, now I think you're going too far. Really, mom's earrings. You are totally trying to impress this boy." She took her sister's face into her hands so she would take a second to look at her. "He likes you! You don't have to fake who you are or make yourself look better on a day to day basis." Crystal says, trying to convince her sister.
