It had been a month and a half since Heather's Summer Kick-off party and so much had happened. After the party, Olivia told Reggie what Heather told her in her bedroom and the boy was quick to open up to the cheerleader. They have now been dating officially for a month. Luke got a job at the record store, three doors down from the cafe Olivia and Crystal worked at. Alex got a job at a music store, teaching little kids how to play the drums. Reggie got a job at American Eagle in the mall and was struggling to not spend his money on clothes. They got sick of all riding together in the cab of Luke's truck so they put together their first paychecks from their jobs and bought an old van. They quickly figured out how much was wrong with it and Alex and Reggie's dads and Mitch helped fix it up for the teenagers. Olivia and Crystal officially had all the dates planned and booked for the tour and had all of their major city hotels pre-booked. They started doing small performances in a couple of local parks three times a week to get some extra cash and people loved them.
"Liv, get in! We're gonna miss the rush if you don't hurry your ass up." Alex yelled out the passenger side window toward the garage.
"I'm coming! I'm coming! Settle down, I just had to change really fast." The girl hops into the backseat of the van where the three boys were waiting for her.
"You looked fine, Ol. You really didn't have to change." Reggie stated as Olivia buckled her seatbelt and Luke took off down the road.
"I did have to change. That garage was a fucking oven and rehearsing was not helping the sweat. I am not going to perform looking like a sweaty monster." She crosses her arms over her chest and Luke rolls his eyes at the girl's attitude.
"So you'll rock out on stage and perform looking like a sweaty monster for the people that pay to see us, but as soon as it's free, you have to be pristine?" Luke glances at Olivia before returning his eyes to the road.
"That's different, babe. I don't start out sweating bullets. Plus, the stuff that I was wearing earlier wasn't as good as what I'm wearing now." She looks out the window and watches the passing cars and people walking down the street.
"Olivia, I guarantee you will be sweating before the first song even starts with what you're wearing right now. Seriously, it's 95 degrees and you decide to wear full-length pants and a black shirt. I really don't understand you sometimes." Alex turns around in his seat to look at her.
"I wear black all the time, I'll be fine. And I'm gonna shower as soon as you drop me off. It's not like I'm gonna bathe in my own sweat all day like you guys do." Olivia says sassily to the boy sitting in front of her.
"I can't say that these two don't, but I definitely do not like being sweaty. So, don't say what's not true." Alex pouts.
The rest of the drive to the park is silent other than the music playing on the radio as the two both pout, Luke remains focused on the road, and Reggie hums along to the songs playing. They soon roll into the parking lot and Luke finds a decent parking spot near the entrance of the park.
