Cherisse gasped as Ajay fell into Octavio's arms. The bullet that was meant for him had pierced through the left side upper portion of Ajay's chest. A ribbon of crimson poured from Ajay's chest as Octavio held her in his arms and gently lowered her to the ground. He placed his knees on the ground and set her gently over his legs, "Che?" His voice was surprisingly calm. Ajay smiled up at Octavio, "Silva."

Cherisse finally found her words. "Get your hands off of her." It was the only thing that she could think to say given the circumstances. Ajay pulled her gaze from Octavio and looked at her mother in disbelief, "Go get help." Cherisse smirked, "Yes, then I can tell them what he did to you." Ajay shot her mother a glare, "Don ya dare. If ya do I will tell them about all the times ya laid ya hands on me. Startin from the beginnin." Ajay sighed as she was out of breath.

Cherisse hesitated for a moment but finally exited through the elevator. Octavio pulled his shirt off, neglecting the buttons as they went flying. He used his shirt and applied pressure to the front of Ajay's chest, "Che...." He held back tears as blood poured from the exit from on her back and down his pants. She smiled at him and reached for his face attempting to calm him but instead she gently smacked his cheek. They both laughed at her shaky hand, "I'm fine Silva." She frowned at him, "Ya bleeding..." She tried to point at his left arm.

Octavio hadn't even noticed that he was bleeding as he glanced over to his arm. He figured the bullet must have grazed his arm when she hopped in front of him to save his life. "I will live Che." He was quite impressed and a little disappointed that she cared more about his flesh wound than she cared about herself.

He tried to remain calm for her sake and hoped that Cherisse was actually getting help. "It was fun while it lasted." She dropped her hand from his face as she spoke. Her hand felt like it weighed more than it should have as it hit her chest. Silva looked into her eyes, "What's that supposed to mean Che?" He was getting worried because it sounded like she was saying her goodbyes to him.

She smiled and closed her eyes, "Whateva magic ya was working with ya fingers. Mmmmm boy where did ya learn that?" Her body began to shake from blood loss and shock. Octavio pulled her close to him as he adjusted her in his arms. His stomach was inside out and she wanted to talk about their sexual encounter.

He tried to crack a smile and keep her awake, "Nowhere Che. It just comes naturally when I'm with you my diosa. Everything just feels right when I am with my goddess." Sometimes he didn't know if she understood anything he was saying in his native tongue so he would say it again or rephrase it for her in English. She began to shiver uncontrollably as her body grew cold. "Bullets suck Silva." It was hard to keep her eyes open at this point so she didn't bother to try.

Octavio laughed, "Yeah, they're not fun but you'll be okay." He didn't dare tell her about his past experience with bullets; he was afraid that she might give him a lecture about it. He waited for her to answer but she didn't. Her body felt heavier than it had just a minute ago. He peer over her almost lifeless body in his arms. Her head had tipped back over his right arm. He shook her to try and wake her up, "Che."

Ajay opened her eyes and groaned in pain. "You gotta stay awake Che." She nodded, "Just let me rest my eyes a little." Octavio began panic internally. "Where in the fuck is Cherisse with the help?!" He rocked her in his arms like a parent would do with an infant to sooth them, "Just stay awake a little longer Che." He looked over the pale skin of her face and noticed that he lips were a tint of blue as her head hung over his arm once again, "Come on Che, just little longer."

Octavio could feel her body growing heavier in his arms. She felt like a block of ice as his fingertips touched her skin. Her breathing was shallow and he knew that he was running out time. He pulled her body as close to his as he could in an attempt to warm her up. But the closer he pulled her into him, the more she bled and that's when the real panic began to set in.

He finally noticed that his shirt that he had used to hold pressure on her gunshot wound was saturated and no longer viable to help her bleeding. Ajay started to drift off again. Octavio shook her almost violently but this time she didn't wake up. "Che. You need to wake up. Che. Che!" Tears began to roll down his cheeks as he shouted her name. He pressed his forehead to hers and began whispering to her the promise that they made to one another to get out of this fucking place together.

The elevator doors parted to give way to Cherisse and a few medics. Octavio handed Ajay over to the medics and stepped out of the way so that they could do their job. He stood there, half naked and covered in her blood as he watched everything unfold in slow motion. He felt like he was in some sort of bad nightmare that he couldn't wake up from. He wanted to help the medics but he didn't know what he could do. He hoped that what he did for Ajay before they got there was enough to keep her alive. He couldn't live with himself if she died.

Octavio was too preoccupied with Ajay to realize that Cherisse hand dragged security into the whole ordeal. He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to find a security officer, "Time to go son." Octavio looked confused. "I'm not the one who did this." The security officer nodded, "I believe you but every time you're here you cause some sort of scene. It's time for you to leave. And you're not welcome back here. Ever."

Octavio threw his hands up in the air, "You're banning me? For life?" The security officer tapped the gun on his side, "Let's not make another scene." Octavio reluctantly followed the security detail to the elevators, briefly looking back at Ajay, getting one last look at her bloody, lifeless body. He wanted to stay with her but he knew if he tried then Cherisse would just have him locked up.

Ajay felt like she was fading in and out existence; but she didn't for how long. Every time she tried to wake up she couldn't. It was almost like she was swimming underwater and every time she was almost to the surface she would get pulled down again. The beeping of the monitors started to drive her crazy and did the trick to pull her from her drowning sleep.

Her still eyes felt heavy as she pushed at them open. Her body ached as she made any tiny movement. When her vision finally came into focus everything started to make sense. She found her mother sitting next to her in the recliner of her hospital room. Her mouth was dry as she spoke, "Get out." Her voice was just above a whisper. Cherisse stood up and made her way to the bedside, "Don't be such a brat."

Ajay hit her call light, "Get the fuck out." She knew it would take more than just her words to get her mother out. On Olympus money always talked and the Che family had money. So it was no surprise that Cherisse was at her bedside. Cherisse had a look of anger on her face, "You will not speak to me like this." Cherisse raised her hand up as a nurse walked in, "Ajay?" Cherisse lowered her hand and looked at the nurse, "I am sorry. She pressed that by mistake." Cherisse hit the flashing button on the wall to turn off the call light. The nurse entered the room and walked over to the bed, "What do you need Ajay?"

Cherisse crossed her arms over her chest as she watched the nurse, "Are you deaf or stupid? Maybe you are both? I told you, we are fine." Her voice was getting progressively louder as she spoke. Ajay grabbed the nurse's hand and squeezed it hard. She looked into the nurse's eyes with her own pleading eyes, "I want her out of my room." Ajay didn't think she could make it clearer than that.

The nurse pulled her phone out and made a call as she held Ajay's hand. Ajay struggled to keep her eyes open as security entered the room. Cherisse threw her hands to her sides, "You can't do this to me. Do you know who I am?" The nurse looked back over to Cherisse, "Ajay is an adult and I don't care who you are." Security waited for Cherisse to grab her belongings and escorted her out of the room. "I will have your license for this. Do you hear me?!" Cherisse always seemed to get the last word in no matter what.

The nurse returned her focus back to Ajay, "Is there anyone that I can call to be with you?" Ajay nodded, "Silva. Octavio Silva." The nurse smiled, "That young man with black hair and the nice smile?" Ajay gave the nurse a weak smile, "Yah. Him. How did ya know?" The nurse nodded and stood up, "He is in the waiting area. He has been here for days. I had to patch him up the same day you came in. I figured you two were a couple." The nurse gave Ajay a warm smile, "Do you want me to update him about your status as well?" Ajay nodded again, "Please."
