Chapter 115 - You Can't Fuck with People's Brains

Ajay was taken back to a house that seemed closer than what she initially thought. She felt like she had ran for a while to get away but maybe that was all in her head. The paralytic still made her immobile in Octavio's arms. "He sure is strong" she thought to herself. He had always been resilient but at some point in life he had gotten physically stronger and it was quite impressive to her. She felt so helpless and she knew that it was due to the medication coursing through her body; she hated feeling helpless.

Octavio stopped at the front door of the house and looked down at her but didn't say anything. She thought that he looked like he wanted to say something, but he was holding it back. He opened the door and entered the house, which made her wonder if this was his house. He then walked towards the hallway that she had crept down just minutes ago.

They stopped in front of the entry way where she had previously seen Hyeon Kim at his computer, she then realized that this was not Octavio's house, it belonged to Hyeon Kim. "Did you get her?" Hyeon Kim didn't even bother to look up from the screen as he said it. Ajay closed her eyes because she felt so stupid being held in Octavio's arms while he and Hyeon Kim were having a conversation; a conversation about her. "Yeah, snow drenched, but alive."

Hyeon Kim tapped away at the keyboard, "Did you have to use the paralytic?" Octavio sighed, "What do you think?" There was more tapping on the keyboard from Hyeon Kim, "I asked you, but I assume the answer is yes." Octavio did his best not to roll his eyes, "Natalie come around yet?"

The tapping of the keyboard paused momentarily and then continued but this time it seemed faster, "No. She still thinks that I am a spy because of Revenant's nonsense. At least she is alive. Loba has the artifacts. We'll see what happens next, but I'll be ready."

Ajay didn't bother to open her eyes because it felt too strenuous, "Natalie was hurt?" Octavio adjusted Ajay in his arms and pushed his goggles up to his forehead. "Don't you remember Che?" Ajay shrugged but then realized that she couldn't physically shrug, and she was just shrugging inwardly, "Remember what?" Silence filled the room, even the keyboard tapping had ceased.

"What do you remember Che?" Octavio's voice was tainted with worry. She opened her eyes and looked up into his concerned emerald eyes, "What does it matter? This probably is all fake anyway." Hyeon Kim turned around in his chair, "What do you mean fake?" Ajay couldn't see him because how she was being held by Octavio, "It doesn't matter."

Hyeon Kim stood up and walked over to both Ajay and Octavio, "What are you talking about?" Before she could accumulate and express an answer she could hear loud footsteps down the hallway, marching from the front door to them. "It just don matter." She got the thought out as Renee and Natalie entered the room together, well more or less Natalie following an angry Renee. "Great now there are two other people that I have sit here and listen to" she thought to herself.

"You!" Renee yelled in a low tone of voice, "What did you do?" She grabbed her kunai from Octavio's waist band and held it up at him, pointing the sharp edge dangerously close to his face. "Whoa chica!" Natalie placed a hand on Renee's shoulder and pointed at Ajay, "Now is not the time." Hyeon Kim stared at Natalie, but she wouldn't even look at him, he then looked back over at Ajay, "What do you remember? Anything? Anything at all?"

Renee huffed and sheaved her kunai, which prompted Natalie to release her grasp on Renee's shoulder, "What did you do Octavio?" Renee said in a low, angry tone. There was a lot of silence, it seemed like no one wanted to make Renee mad again. Octavio smiled, "I just borrowed your kunai." Renee clenched her fists at her sides, "You used it to get into her head after I told you not to! You can't go around and fuck with people's brains! You can do real damage. I told you to leave it alone."
