Monday mornings. That statement itself explains my mood. The first day of the week, five days left until it was the weekend. Who said 'I love Monday?' Nobody ever.
I was currently in my life skills class where the teacher was talking about being pregnant and that. "It's not as easy as you think it is, you're responsible for the child as well as yourself from then on. You have to put them before you and let me tell you, they don't half turn your world upside down." Mr Halden - the life skills teacher - said as he tried to make pregnancy seem serious but not life destroying.
He was a good teacher Mr Halden and over the past couple of years he had always given time to listen to anyone's problems, especially relationships. The amount of time's i'd gone with Daniel to talk to him was ridiculous, he'd know every minor detail of our relationship. I should've known then that if we had so many problems it wasn't going to work out between us.
He'd always made this class kind of fun, he says it's to give us a break from the stress of our other classes. It wasn't his fault that I was sat there bored surrounded in my thoughts but let's be real about this. Pregnancy was way, way down on my list of worries, I mean I hadn't even got a boyfriend for crying out loud.
"And I know you're all there thinking, it's way in the future but you never know so..." He walked back behind his desk and was doing something with his bottom draw. "We're going to prepare you for it now."
He pulled out a doll from behind his back and instantly people began to talk, some calling it boring, exciting, you get the picture.
"So everyone will be paired up, we have enough people for every boy to be paired up with a girl and visa versa. You will be picking your partners names out of a hat, well the girls will be picking a boys name. So if all the girls come up here."
Some jumped up - whilst others made it seem like an effort - and created a huddle around Mr Halden's desk. I was one of the first to pull a name out and I smiled at the name. After showing the teacher Lyndon pulled me aside.
"Who did you get then?" I turned the piece of paper to face him and a small smirk appeared as he read the name 'Lyndon Winchester.'
"Well take a seat then" he gestured to the empty desk beside him. As I did so there was a small bang coming from the front of the room. We both turned our heads to look, along with everyone else in the room, even though you couldn't see anything.
A few minutes later Sam emerged from the - gradually getting smaller - group of people. She walked over to me and Lyndon smiling, "guess who I got."
"I have no idea please tell us" I said very monotone whilst rolling my eyes.
"Josh"
"Josh?" We repeated, as that devious look in her eye appeared.
"Well I did, but I saw that Jessica had Matty. I can't deal with her constant flirting with him, we all know that she's the biggest slut of the school."
"I tripped her up and as she dropped her paper I switched it with mine. She was only bothered about the scratch on her knee and her chipped nail."
She walked to the chair behind us where Matty had sat, even though he clearly had no idea of what just happened. She pushed his desk away slightly and sat on his lap before giving him a small kiss.
"Hey partner" she said before they kissed again, this time Lynd was the one to break them up.
"Okay, okay, we get it. You two are dating, but this is a public place and I would like to go about my day without having to witness that." he used a lot of hand gestures in that.
