**Brook's POV**
"You coming inside?" I asked Lyndon as we pulled outside my house.
"Has there ever been a time that I haven't?" Actually I don't think that there was, he always made time for me. He'd missed hooking up with girls, going out with his mates, he'd always put his life on hold to spend time with me. I had never actually noticed that before, but then again I think that I was the exact same. You couldn't keep us apart for too long.
He got out of the car and shut the door as I did. I ran up to my front door to find it unlocked indicating that Matty was home.
"Matthew, where are you?!" I shouted up the stairs but got no response. I went up to his room and banged on his door a few times but barely waited for an answer before deciding to walk in anyway.
There he was just lying on his back with his eyes closed and his headphones on, I could hear the music faintly from where I was standing at the door but it wasn't loud enough for me to be able to recognise it.
I stood next to where Matty's bed was waiting for him to realise that I was in the room but he looked totally lost in his music.
"Matty" I shouted but he still didn't open his eyes. I grabbed both sides of the headphones and quickly let go so that they hit either side of his face. Ha, that got his attention. he slid the headphones down his head so that they were resting around the back of his neck.
"Hey, what was that for?" He sat upright where he was sitting with his legs dangling off the side.
"Why didn't you tell me about Sam?" I was actually offended that he hadn't told me, we were the kind of people who told each other everything. We were so close that it actually kind of hurt me that he didn't confide in me with a secret like this.
"It's just not that simple" He sighed as he got up off the bed and walked over to his desk, messing around with a few papers on there, not really doing anything with them though. That was a sign that he was nervous, he always did whatever he could to distract himself.
"I've just always been around her and i've always thought of her as like a sister to me so when I started feeling all of these different things towards her I was confused. Today, I'm not even sure what that was. I just saw her across the room and wanted to kiss her there and then, so I did."
"I know that I could have told you about it but I just couldn't understand it myself. Honestly I have no idea what to do now though. What do I say, I bet i've made everything awkward and she probably doesn't want anything to do with me."
I pulled Matty's hands away from the desk and forced him to sit down next to me on the beanbag chairs. "Matty, you're thinking about this too much but whatever you do, Sam really likes you, she's not going to reject you if that's what you're thinking."
I'd rarely ever seen this side to Matty, he'd always been someone who always knew what he was doing and he was always confident. For Sam to be able to bring out this side in him must mean that she really meant something to him.
"But how am I going to be good enough for her, she deserves someone better than me." He started messing around with his fingers but didn't attempt to move from his seat.
"Matty, you are the best person for her or at least that's what she believes, so should you. I don't know anyone better for her either but as her best friend I am obliged to tell you that if you hurt her, you better watch out, I know where you live."
That earnt me a smile from Matty and I could see his self confidence being restored.
"And you know I'll definitely kick your ass if you hurt her." Lynd had suddenly appeared and was now standing in the doorframe. "I too know where you live." Matty stood up and walked so that he was directly standing in front of Lyndon before they did their manly hug thing. "Fair play to you though, awesome move, you gonna call her?"
