I woke up with the constant sound of my very old frenemy- my alarm clock. If I would have to vote for the worst invention ever made on Earth, then I would elect my dear old friend clock. Hey! What person would like to be woken up when having a good sleep? I just hate it! I really feel that I need to sleep more... but I sighed after remembering what the alarm was meant for. I straightened my body up and after a second of hesitation, forced myself to start the day.

I now live on my newly purchased house that settles just at the middle of what people call the “Business District of the Philippines” - Makati. I had several reasons why I moved from my family house. One of the reasons was the fact that I'm not getting younger by the second. I'm already 28 and some time in the future, I am looking forward to get married. I do miss my home so I altered my new house to look like more of an extension of my family house. I even had the soccer ball my dad gave me when I was five and I displayed on my living room. The trophy I won in my essay competition and not to mention the last family portrait we had before my dad died accompanied the memento.

Now you know, I am the sentimental type of person. I cherish everything that holds any significant importance in my life. However, before today, I hadn’t noticed collecting things as mementos had become my hobby of sorts. If you wonder, I do still have with me the first movie tickets me and my first girlfriend went to. It might seem funny to you but if there was something I learned from my father's death is to treasure each and every moment of your life.

I then proceeded to my usual routine and went to work. Now, preparing to go to work is easy but going to the office is totally a disaster. You need to at least wait for 10 or 15 minutes before you get to cross one block of the street. So, I usually drive my way to work earlier than the usual. A lot of work needs to be done and I can't afford to be late.

"Good morning sir!" greets Filo, our very loyal security guard. He had been the company's security guard ever since the company started.

"Good morning Filo! How's your day?"

"Oh my day? Well, my wife cooked something delicious for our breakfast so I am really in a good mood."

"Really? That's nice of you then. If you don't mind I need to go now. I left lots of paperwork in my office yesterday."

"Go on sir!" He then bid me farewell with a wide smile in his face.

Upon entering the office, you can witness the usual scenario that happens in most business offices. Employees were greeting each other good morning. Some were sipping hot coffee they bought from a nearby cafe and a few who are already in the middle of doing some paperwork. You can say that there is nothing of interest at my workplace but I thank God that somehow there's someone that makes our workplace extra special.

He's totally the craziest, funniest, eccentric guy I've ever known- not to mention that he totally sucks in his lovelife. People say that he has character issues but for the longest time that I have known him, I can say that he is the one person I trust most. Without him, it would have been really hard for me to raise the status of this company back to the top. He did a lot of the middle work for me back then. He has a talent in making connections with different types of people. He's the ‘Beast’ when it comes in closing deals. The guys is one of the best talkers that has ever existed- he can make you change your mind with just a few words. But, don’t admire him yet because the weird thing about him is that when work is not involved, he's a completely different person.

My intuition told me that Adie was already inside my office and that he might be playing around with Miss Lim again- well he always does. My secretary seems to be his type and he has been trying to woo her for decades already. He always tries different ways just to impress Miss Lim but the poor guy isn’t lucky enough.
