"I thought I would find you in here."
My eyes snapped open and I sat up straight in bed. I looked to both sides of me and saw the twins rubbing their eyes as they woke up. How did I fall asleep? We were all talking about the shop Fred and George had in mind, and changing Percy's Head Boy badge to read Bighead Boy.
"I'm sorry, mom." I climbed over Fred's body. "We dozed off." She stood there with her hands on her hips. Why is she mad at this? All we did was sleep! "A-are you mad?"
Her arms fell. "No. But you need to hurry up and get dressed."
"Yes, ma'am." I hurried after her. I walked past Ron and Percy's room, where Percy was yelling at Ron. Something about Ron dripping tea on the picture of Percy's girlfriend. How Percy has a girlfriend is beyond me. I quickly got dressed and joining everyone downstairs for breakfast.
"Was your mum really mad?" George questioned as he took a bite of eggs.
I looked over to where my mother was talking cheerfully to Mrs. Weasley. "I'm not sure. She said she wasn't, but I wouldn't count on that. She's just really protective. Which reminds me, I need to tell you both something when we are on the train."
"They're here." Mr. Weasley said from where he waited outside for the cars.
I stood from my seat, grabbed my luggage, and followed everyone outside. Harry, Percy, Ron, Hermione, and Mr. Weasley all piled into one car, leaving the twins, Ginny, Mrs. Weasley, my mom and I to the other one.
I peered inside the crammed car. "Where am I going to sit?"
"Just sit on Fred and George's lap, dear." Mrs. Weasley said from the front seat.
"Great." I mumbled under my breath. I sat on Fred's lap since he was the closest to the door. Once the door was closed, we were off to King's Cross Station.
"Boys." My mom said from the other side of the car. "Would you two do me a favor and watch out for Fae this school year?"
"Mom!" I whined. "I can look after myself. I'll be sixteen this year." Yes, I am older than the twins. That's what happens when you're born in October.
"I know you can look after yourself, Fae, but after what I told you last night, I want you to be safe."
I rolled my eyes. Why am I treated like a kid all the time around her?
"Yes, Mrs. Williams." George agreed. "We'll keep a close eye on the little Faery."
"Yeah, when she eats, sleeps, showers—"
"Fred!" Mrs. Weasley yelled from the front.
"Sorry. But we will watch out for Fae."
I was so glad to get out of the car. It was getting pretty awkward. Every time I turned my head to Fred, our faces were just inches away. I rushed through the barrier with my mom beside me and the boys right behind us. I loaded my things on a luggage rack with the boys, and went back outside to say goodbye to my mom.
"You promise to be safe, right, puppy?"
"Yes. I'll be at Hogwarts. What safer place is there in this whole entire world?" I bit my lip. I know what she's going to say when I ask her. "Before I leave, will you please tell me what's going on?"
She shook her head. "No. It's safer if you didn't find out."
"How? How would I be safer if you don't tell me? I can avoid Black if you tell me the whole truth."
