I won't spare you the boring details of showing the first years to the common room. It wasn't that interesting. The next morning, I sat between the boys, like I always do. Professor McGonagall handed out the timetables for the Gryffindor House.
"I was thinking about a candy that makes your tongue grow!" Fred said.
And this is why I'm becoming a healer. So the boys don't hurt themselves. I furrowed my eyebrows. "You mean like length wise, and size?"
"Length."
"That is a good idea, Freddie." George complemented. "I'll add that to the list."
My eyes scanned my timetable. "What would it be called? Ton-Tongue Toffee?"
"It's like you can read my mind!" Fred nudged me.
At that time, we stopped talking about it when Harry, Ron and Hermione walked up to the table and sat down.
"New third-year timetables." I said passing them out. My eyes widen a bit when I saw Hermione's, but I didn't ask.
"What's up with you, Harry?" George asked the boy.
"Malfoy." Ron answered.
I looked up in time to see greasy haired boy pretend to faint. What an ass!
"That little git." Fred said calmly.
I chuckled as I remembered last night on the train. "He wasn't so cocky last night when the Dementors were down our end of the train. He came running into our compartment. I swear he had tears in his eyes."
"Nearly wet himself." Fred added.
"I wasn't too happy myself." George said. "They're horrible things, those Dementors."
I buttered a piece of toast. "It felt like they freeze your insides, don't they?"
"You didn't pass out, though, did you?" Harry asked in a low voice.
That's right. Harry assed out when the Dementor checked his cabin. If the Dementors made me feel that way by just sticking its head in, I wonder what it felt like for Harry.
"Forget it, Harry" George said. "Dad had to go out to Azkaban one time, remember, Fred? And he said it was the worst place he'd ever been. He came back all weak and shaking ... they suck the happiness out of a place, Dementors. Most of the prisoners go mad in there."
My mind went to Black. He was mad, and he still got out. How did he get out of the most secure place in the wizarding world? And how is it that no one has seen him once?
Fred saw the look on my face and decided to change the subject. "Anyway, we'll see how happy Malfoy looks after our first Quidditch match. Gryffindor versus Slytherin, first game of the season, remember?"
I rolled my eyes. I'm ready to get our game with Slytherin out of the way. They always find a way to fight dirty. I ended up with a bloody nose last year five minutes into the game. I'm a Chaser along with Angelina Johnson and Alicia Spinnet. The Gryffindor team was the dream team. Perfect in everyway. Well, I bet that's what every house thinks of their team. We didn't win last year because, well, I was petrified by the Basilisk. I know what you're thinking. The Basilisk only went after Muggle-borns. Well, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. This year is our year to shine!"
"What class do we have first?" I asked before taking a sip of pumpkin juice.
"Um, looks like double Potions with Slytherin and then after lunch we have D.A.D.A." George answered.
I groaned. "Can we skip Potions?"
"Mmm. Maybe." Fred shrugged. "If you want to lose 100 points."
"Right. I don't want to lose that much on the first day of school. Let's get this over with." I grabbed my bag and the boys followed me out of the Great Hall.
