The Elements Of Earth

Prologue

Me and Alyssa had been thinking of going back to another universe after Sydney turned 18 a couple of days ago. When her birthday came, I took her and Alyssa to a government building, in the universe where I came from. It was the building that tested the travellers, experimented on breaking time, and giving random people access to every place you could think, including me and Mizuta.
When we came in, someone recognised me and asked what I was doing here. I said I wanted to give the girls the travellers and told us to follow her.

On the way through the building, I saw that they were still creating travellers, but they were more advanced and could handle almost an infinite amount of universes. Also, they weren't giving them to random people anymore, they were only given to people who passed a test. When we got to the room, Alyssa and Sydney were directed to separate rooms, and 2 others walked in with a pen and pieces of paper and asked them questions, writing their responses down on the paper. I got to look at some of the questions, and they said: 'Do you know anyone with a traveller?', 'Do you understand current technologies?', and 'Can you deal with traumatic events?'. After one hour, they got the devices, and I was given an improved version they had.

Anyway, as usual, we start to pack, bringing food, water, and sleeping bags and tents. I brought the ruby knife Mizuta gave me, Alyssa packed the old knife I used to have, and Sydney brought her phone and headphones. After we finish, I teach them how to use the device, and after a bit, we all had our co-ordinates synced to the same universe. After a final bit of preparation, we run in, unknown of the state of the other side.

Chapter 1-1

We wasn't very lucky of where we appeared. We arrived underneath a roof and notice something very bad. We were stuck in the middle of a storm, and water isn't very good for us. There was a couple of buildings around us, so I made a plan just to go and run for it, but it wasn't a good idea. Not only was the rain there, it was also cold and windy, meaning it was dangerous to go out. Anyway, we run towards one of the bigger buildings, hearing many people inside. However while running, Sydney fell over and hurt her knee, so I had to pick her up and almost throw her into the building.

When we got in, we saw we ran into a hotel with 3 floors, many rooms with beds, and a bar. We were just going to go to the lady at the counter to ask for beds, but one of the 2 girls sat on a table spoke up: "Why were you running in the middle of a storm? No one but a bunch of morons would do that.", she said, taking another drink from her glass. After I tell her how we got here, she apologises and starts to talk to the other girl next to her. After, we walked up to the lady at the counter and asked for a room. She said that the first night was free but they would have to pay tomorrow. It was also at this point I realised we had no money, but I would find a way.

We get into our room and look around. There was a TV, 3 beds and a balcony, which we couldn't go out on yet because it was still raining. While Alyssa was looking through the TV channels, I looked at Sydney's leg, which had red marks where she fell over in the rain. I look through my bag and get a medkit out and start to clean the cut and then put a plaster on it. After about 1 hour of just laying in bed watching TV, we all fell asleep.

Chapter 1-2

I woke up at about 8 o'clock, looking out of one of the windows. The rain had stopped and the sun was shining through the glass. I went out the balcony to have a better look and I was stunned. The balcony overlooked a large town, with building, parks, house and shops all placed around the horizon. The sea glowed a bright blue as it surrounded the island this town was placed on, and a large pier and dock could be seen above the water. I stood for a minute, looking at the view, before heading back inside to wake up the others and show them. After showing them the view, eating breakfast and getting changed, we headed downstairs to go look around, when we were stopped by the 2 girls earlier on the table. "Hey, sorry about last night, I just got really confused. Also, it seems like your new here, mind if we show you around, we are tour guides after all.". We accepted, and were given umbrellas by them just incase it rained, and left.
