Past And Future

Prologue

Me and Alyssa had been thinking of going back to a random splatoon dimention ever since we came back. We both joked about going to a dimention with funny numbers but we knew then it wouldn't be random. Anyways, we started to pack again, and I looked at my stuff:

Knife that Mizuta gave me? Check.

Shield? Check.

Camping equipment? Check.

Pen and notebook? Check.

Supplies to last both of us? Check.

After sorting everything out, I pull out the traveller and was about to set it up, when Sydney came into the room. "Are you guys going to another dimention again?". "Yes, why?", I asked. "Can I come with you please! I'll promise to be safe.", she said in a cute voice. "Sorry but no. Last time I went i almost died, and I don't want you get hurt. She started to get mad, but then I thought of a solution. "Look, your 18th birthday is in a few days. When you are an adult, we will take you with us.". "Ok...", she said, sounded disappointed, and we set up the traveller. "Dimention #1839482... ok", I said as I fired it up. "Ready?". "Ready.", Alyssa responded, as we ran in.

We came through the portal and instantly heard weapons being fired. And then we noticed the sheer amount of people fighting each other at once, and it seemed to be inklings against octarians. I knew that we were in this universe's version of the great turf war, and we both stood and looked at the chaos for a minute. Also, then we noticed the cold, as the fights were up on very tall mountains. At night. In winter. We were then shot at, and we ran to a nearby abandoned building.

As we ran in, we hid in the corner while 5 inkling soldiers held off the enemy. "Are you guys survivors?", one of them ask. "Well, no but.. I'll explain after the fight has died down.". "Ok... but for now, just stay safe!", he replied. Me and Alyssa had to wait 10 minutes for the fight to die down, including a point where one of them got hit and had to get evacuated. At one point, I noticed Alyssa's head on my shoulder. She looked cold and scared, so I put my arm around her shoulder and stayed like that untill it was over. After the octarians fled, the soldier spoke up again.

"So you said you'll explain what happened, right?". Oh yeah, right.", I said as I showed him the traveller, which was thankfully still in my pocket. "This is a dimention traveller, it helps me to travel to infinite dimention at any time." The soldier looked at the device in awe. "That's more advanced then anything we've ever had... look, I know we just met, but will you help us defeat the octarians?", he said. We discussed for a moment but we decided to help them. I'm writing this as we are about to set out, I think not bringing Sydney was a good idea.
