TW's: homophobia, slurs, messed up childhood.
-Nick POV-
It had been three weeks since me and Karl had went to the beach and he had already gotten his cast off, the last two weeks have mostly been just school work and studying.
I was sitting on my bed, trying to finish some math work that I had gotten when Karl burst into our dorm room.
"NICK!" He said loudly. Making me startle and sit up in bed.
"What? What's wrong?" I said, running up to him.
"There's two weeks until it's like go back home week." He said with a smile.
I processed this information for a second before actually understand what he had said, "Shit." I mumbled, putting my hands over my eyes.
My parents were very religious, they wanted the perfect son that played soccer and got perfect grades and had a white, rich, girl friend. I hadn't told them I was gay yet. I didn't know how to. I was scared they wouldn't accept me, when I was younger I always had to pick the "boy" toys and was taught that being gay was bad and a sin.
"What happened?" Karl asked me, taking my hands off of my face.
"My parents... don't know I'm gay. And I don't think they would accept me." I told him, squeezing my eyes shut.
"It's okay," He said to me, kissing my nose. "We'll figure it out together, alright?"
I nodded and he gave me a hug, I opened my eyes and hugged him back. "You're the best boyfriend." I said into his hair.
He giggled and pulled back from the hug. "Why don't we go to your parents house and tell them, together?" He said to me.
It took a little convincing but he got me to say yes finally. How could I say no to him?
(time skip to when the parent visiting day thing is.)
Me and Karl had our stuff all packed up and I was loading it all into the car now. We were driving to Portland because it was only like a 3 hour drive from Seattle. It was 6:30am and Karl was asleep in our dorm room, I wanted to leave early because everyone was leaving early today so it would be easier to go, and I wanted to show Karl around my old neighborhood.
After I packed all our stuff in the trunk I went back upstairs and picked up Karl bridal style. He didn't wake up until we got outside. "What are you doing?" He said after a moment, his voice raspy and sweet.
"I told you last night, we need to leave early." I leaned forward and kissed his forehead, "Also, good morning bub."
It was barely light out, the sun was not even over the trees but I didn't miss the pink that spread onto his face.
"Good morning, boyfriend." He said back, resting his head on my chest like a baby. His nickname for me was 'boyfriend' and I thought it was funny.
I set him in the passenger seat of the car and he fell asleep almost immediately. When he told me he was coming with me to my parents house I asked him what about his parents and he said we would both just visit them next time, I thought about how much he cared about me, I loved him so damn much.
After two hours of him sleeping and me driving in silence Karl woke up, saying he needed to use the bathroom. I pulled over and we both went into a gas station bathroom, he told me to turn away as he peed and I fake pouted, looking at the door.
When we were both done he wrapped his arms around my neck, stretching his neck up and kissing me. He allowed my tongue in his mouth and I explored every crevice in it, tasting his strawberry chapstick. I pulled back and he looked sad, "As much as I would love to make out with you, this bathroom smells like shit and we have a bunch of bags in the car."
