-Nick POV-

I woke up on my bed, tangled in sheets. I opened my eyes and ran a hand through my hair, looking around the room. I didn't see Karl for a second until I looked down near his bed. He was splayed out across the floor, breathing very slowly. Was he... dead? I thought to myself, getting out of bed and hovering over him.

I poked his side, "Kaaaaarl." I said to him, panicking.

He stayed still for a second before his eyes fluttered open, I sat back. "Thank god, I thought you were dead."

He looked around, half asleep, before smirking at me. He giggled and my heart did a small flip for some reason, I ignored it and looked down at the carpeted floor and then back at him. His eyes were half shut and he was still laying down, I stretched my hands out toward him, standing up.

"C'mon." I said, reaching my hands out further toward him, he took them reluctantly and I told him to put on some clothes.

"why?" He asked me, getting clothes from his tiny closet near his bed.

"I'm taking you somewhere."

I got my clothes and went into the bathroom, going into a changing room and changing quickly into a hoodie and sweatpants.

After we had both gotten dressed and put shoes on I dragged him outside by his arm, he was complaining about how it was "only 7:30." and how he "wanted to sleep in." I kept walking and when he started walking by himself I let go of his hand, he walked beside me and we walked in a comfortable silence.

"Where the hell are we going?" He asked after five minutes.

"So impatient." I said, looking down at him. I laughed a little and kept walking, not answering his question. He rolled his eyes and huffed but followed.

Last night I had been walking all over, just when I was about to go back to the dorms I saw a small pale green building on the back corner of a small street. I had walked over to the building, the moon and street lights lighting up my path. When I got up to the place I noticed it was a restaurant, I looked through the glass and saw that it was a bakery. There was no one in it that late at night but there were lots of things on the menu, From croissants to mocha frappuccinos.

I was walking through were I was last night, about to say I forgot where it was when I saw it in front of me. What I hadn't noticed yesterday was the light green sign that said 'F l o w e r s' on the front of it, lit up by small light bulbs on the edges.

I opened the front door for him and he walked in, looking at me with confused eyes. I walked in and the smell of fresh bread wafted into my nose.

"Hi!" A short woman said cheerfully, looking at both of us.

"Hi." I said, studying the menu as Karl did the same. "Can I have a iced mocha?" I asked her.

She nodded and looked over at Karl. "Can I have a pistachio macron?"

"Yup! Those will be ready soon." She said smiling and then turned away.

I giggled a little bit and looked at Karl. "When did you find this place?" he asked, walking over to a small table.

"Last night." I said, sitting down across from him.

"Thanks for bringing me here." He said with a small smile. "People don't usually talk to me so this is nice."

"Why?" I asked, confused. Why wouldn't anyone talk to him?

He shrugged and I decided to drop it, it was probably a personal reason.

"I'm still mad you woke me up so early though."

I laughed loudly at this. "You know you are going to have to wake up earlier when school actually starts."

He groaned and put his head on his palms, rubbing his eyes.

"Here ya go!" The nice lady said, placing down the stuff we ordered in front of us.

"Thanks!" I said, getting up as Karl did and walking back out the door. Karl took a bite of his thing and nodded.

After a moment of comfortable silence, Karl started laughing hard. "What?" I said, laughing at his laugh.

"Look." He said, pointing into the bag, still laughing.

Inside the bag was a phone number with a winky face.

"I'm going to text her." He said, pulling out his phone. I smiled and kept walking next to him.

After another moment of silence he laughed again. "PLEASE." he said loudly, tears coming out of his eyes from how hard he was laughing.

I looked over at his phone and saw the messages.

(Let's say her name is Rosie okay)

Me < Hi.

Rosie < I see you found my number ;)

Me < I'm gay ;)

Rosie < oops.

I read the messages and laughed. "OOPS." I said loudly, causing him to laugh harder. "Stopppp what the fuckkk." I said through my laughs.

We laughed the rest of the way back to the dorms, repeatedly saying oops to each other on the way there, causing us both to burst out laughing.

I had completely forgotten until when I was about to fall asleep that day that the text had said he was gay...
