Your POV

"Phil Marcel." I pointed at the photo in my album.

"I knew it." Doctor Strange sat next to me at the kitchen table.

"Do you know where he is?"

"No."

"What?"

"You asked if I knew where he was," I stated.

"I was about to, but."

"Oh."

"You're not fully human, are you?"

Shit, did he know? Play it cool. "What kind of question is that, of course, I am fully human. What else would I be? Half fox?" Oh, good job, (y/n).

"Do I have to remind you that he and I were friends?" He hesitated. "Best friends."

I stared at him for a second. I felt both vulnerable and relieved that the others weren't here.

"He told me, about 18 years ago, that he'd set out on a journey to find the Japanese mythical creature, kitsune."

"And that is?"

"To put it very simple, a fox spirit."w

I had picked up a book about cultures just a few hours ago, I didn't look Japanese at all, that couldn't be it.

"Uh, do I look Japanese?"

"They aren't all Japanese." He sighed. "The only given fact is that they are, with a 90% chance, female."

"Well, I certainly am not human." I gave in, tiredly looking at the magic man.

How come the magic men were the ones to figure out my secrets?

"I know." He made a cup of tea appear in front of me. "I take it that you've experienced some enhanced abilities?" I nodded at the man's question and let him continue.

"Hearing, smell, and sight should be the most noticeable. Then there's the taste, which you'll notice soon enough. You should have a 6th sense, you feel--"

"What's going to happen before it happens." I interrupted him as I knew what he talked about.

"Exactly!" He agreed excitedly, this being the confirmation that I was what he believed.

"Do, Uhm, do you know anything else?" I actually talked to someone who knew so much, Loki's research had its restriction as he was a Norse god.

"You'll have increased strength, speed, you know, the natural stuff for a superhero." We both laughed a little. "Then, you'll be able to jump really high."

"Really?" I was now resting my head on my knuckles in genuine curiosity. "How do you know so much?"

"Every month, Phil would send me a letter, that way, I knew he was alive." He put his hand in his pocket, indicating that he had one with him. "He'd tell me what he'd gotten to know about you, your kind."

I found it weird, had Phil, the man I'd come to see as my father really known that about me? Just why didn't he say anything?

"Do you know anything else about this?" Dr Strange said, leaning ever so slightly closer, a glint in his eyes.

"No," I wanted to know more but decided against it as I didn't want to reveal that much about myself still. "Can I go?"

It was the middle of the night, and I was exhausted. I just wanted to get a snack and watch TV until I fell asleep. With a simple nod from him, I stood up a little unsteady, grabbing a bag of chips from a cupboard.

"Are these free to take, Friday?" I looked up while holding the snack.

"Yes, they are." She simply answered. "Everything that doesn't have a name on it is."

"Nice." I felt Strange's eyes on my back, and the next second he was out of the room.

Then I heard talking, tony was on the phone.

"You have to be more careful!"

Silence.

"No, Peter, I don't care that you're Spider-Man, that doesn't give you the right to be reckless."

Peter must've spoken.

"God, I wish I could ground you, just... please be careful."

Oh, Peter was Spider-Man, I think I saw a video about him.

My stomach made what resembled a whale's mate call. I had never felt this hungry, ever! So, I just might have grabbed a soda and leftover pizza from lunch.

Remembering what Bruce had told me before Tony rushed in made me focus on only leaning on one foot.

For a few hours, I stayed awake with the help of snacks, Spider-Man videos and a series. It was called Stranger Things and probably would've kept me up all night if my food hadn't been terminated so quickly.

"(y/n)." I woke up at home. My real home.

"Dr Marcel!" I exclaimed, running to hug him.

"Hey, what did we say about that?" He hugged me back.

"I'm sorry, Phil."

"Now, why don't you go eat pizza, I have a new test to do."

Happily, I compiled, making my way to the kitchen table which had the most appealing pizza ever on it.

"Let's start then, shall we?" A wicked grin grew on my father figures face. Suddenly I couldn't move. He held a knife in his hand, one of those surgical ones. Slowly, but surely he approached me.

"(y/n)." He said, knife on my skin.

"(y/n)." I closed my eyes as it pierced me.

"(y/n)!" I woke up, drenched in sweat. "It's just a nightmare."

It's just a nightmare.
