Come sit down, grab yourself a book

Inside my written soul, let's take a deep look

A joyful chapter's right around the bend

And then my novel I can happily end

Your POV

Surrounded by books and a very calm atmosphere, I could finally relax. Libraries always made something inside me flutter. In this whole modern building, this felt like a forest, linked with nature.

I couldn't help but squeal when I saw a tea bench.

"Oh, yes. Fricking yes." I walked towards it. "This is officially the best day of my life!"

"With all due respect, could you please shut up?" I recognized it as the man who I knocked down. "Oh, and put a pot on for me too could you?"

"R-right!"

I filled the kettle with water from a sink next to it and put it on the boiler.

I then started my journey to find a good book.

"I'd recommend Harry Potter if you haven't read those." The green-dressed man didn't even look up from his book. "They're marvellous."

I saw that the cover on his book actually said Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix.

I realized that I probably had to ask where they were, but before I could form the words, he stood up.

"They're in my room. Mind helping?" He uttered while closing his book.

I could always look for another book, but the name gave me this weird feeling. I wanted to find out more. And as they say, "Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back."

Conclusion, I probably wouldn't die.

"Sure."

If I die, it won't be in vain. I will have learned about a new book that I can probably read in my afterlife. It's okay.

Before I knew it, I arrived in the dark but somehow bright room. The walls were dark green, and every now and then you would spot a golden detail. The bed was clothed in white sheets with a green blanket thrown over it. The room felt homey, and I immediately felt calm. On the far left wall hung a black bookshelf, filled to the top with books.

"Woah."

The man smiled and picked six books from the bookshelf. "Here we are." He handed me one book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone.

"Thank you." I smiled, feeling more comfortable with the man after having seen his room.

I made my way towards the door. But, halfway there, I felt a tug on my hoodie. A cold inside wind washed over my ears.

"Hm." The god said, before placing the hood back on my head.

I froze.

"You coming?" He left the room. "The tea will get cold."

I didn't say a word, but I slowly followed him out, head down.

I heard a new pair of footsteps approaching. Peters.

"Hey, Mr Loki!" He cheered happily. "(y/n)!"

"Hello, child." I heard as Loki's hand ruffled through Peter's hair.

"Is everything alright (y/n)?" I heard the boy's smile fade through the sentence.

"Mhm," I uttered quietly, though he seemed to hear it, like always.

Loki and I continued to walk to the library, where we grabbed our tea and sat down. The library was to 90% a technology-free zone. It felt like you sat in a forest.

My thoughts were interrupted by Loki. "Can I see them again?"

What the hell, he'd already seen them. "Sure." I pulled the hood off my head and exposed my ears.

I seemed to sense his hand moving towards me even before it did. I flinched, and he hesitated, but then continued.

"They're real." He gasped. "I've only heard stories." A small smile crept upon his face. "How long have you had them."

"Eh, a week I guess." I felt calmer since the god acted so calmly about it. "I hear, smell and see better."

"Okay, so they're not fully developed."

"I thought you said that you'd only heard stories." I took a sip of my tea.

His cheeks turned a bright pink "I've actually read a lot about them, and mom told me things." Loki hid his face while eating the chocolate glazed doughnut he just poofed into existence.

"How did you-- Nevermind." I sighed and laughed.

For a moment we just sat there, I didn't feel exposed, I didn't want to hide. I felt happy. Then I got lost in my thoughts, I didn't hear the world around me.

"Hey!" A new voice brought me back to reality. "Nat told me to ask you if you wanted lunch."

Lunch! What time was it?

Then I realized that my hood was down. But the blonde man with... hearing aids? He didn't seem to notice.

"Give us a few."

"Right."

If I didn't know better, I'd guess that hearing-aid-man had a grudge against Loki.

He left, and I stared at Loki, pointing at my ears. "He must've seen them, but he didn't act weird!"

All the god did was make a mirror appear, my ears weren't there.

"How?" I stared in aw. "They were there just a moment ago."

"I hid them." He realized hed have to explain himself. "I was afraid you might freeze like a deer in headlights. Again."

With a small laugh and red cheeks, I followed Loki as he left for the kitchen.
