Lam Egerton - He was an old man reaching the end of his life. He was just a baron, owner of a small town. That was until the new King took the throne. Even though he was old, he had a beautiful young wife that King desired. So he ordered his wife to sleep with the King. Happy, King gave him the title of viscount and even more Land. But now, he was on his deathbed, without a Hier.

That was the man Jay was looking at, sleeping on the bed. Currently, Jay was in a big room, standing near the window, his eyes watching the feeble old man lying on his bed.

It was a big bed, with drapes around it. His silhouette visible across the drapes as the light from the window poured inside the room.

There was a reason he chose this man - it would be easier to get closer to the King through him.

As a Hero, he had a few special skills, one of which was Dominate. He used it was Dominate any weapon - using weapons came naturally to him. But it wasn't just weapons he could Dominate. He could Dominate humans too. Just as a Hero, he never did. There was something morally wrong with it.

He stood there, glancing at the moon outside. He knew they were out there, all the races from all the failed worlds. There must be so many twisted worlds in the shadow of Infinite Ladder. He got lucky with what seemed to be an ordinary fantasy world. At least on the surface, there were still goblins, trolls, and the other monsters.

The good thing was this world didn't seem all that high level with just Golden Knights and Magicians in it. Even though he was level 1, he was also a hero. He might be the most powerful level 1 ever. Oh, wait, that might not be true. In some world, there must be a world with an absolutely crazy overpowered person who was level 1.

He sighed, walking towards the old man, as much as he wanted to hold off a little longer. He couldn't.

Putting his hand over the old man's head, he spoke, "Dominate." There was a short burst of black-red lightning.

It was like, for a moment, he went inside the old man's mind. His memories, his feelings, understanding all there was to about him, and he could manipulate them at any moment.

Time slipped by while he saw through the memories.

The next morning,

"It's so good that you are feeling better!!!" A woman hung on the old man Lam, sitting up on the bed, with a smile on his serious face.

"Yes, so am I." His eyes shifted to Jay, wearing a white coat over his black t-shirt and pants. He sat on the stool with a warm smile on his face, watching the two of them.

"I just want to apologize for coming quietly at night. I just wanted to heal you and leave, but your wife came...and..." He had an awkward smile on his face, trying to explain himself.

The young woman, with ashen hairs and blue eyes, shook her head, "No, you don't have to apologize. I couldn't be any more grateful to you."

Jay blinked, trying his best not to let his smile falter, as he shook his hand, "no need for that."

The old man raised his arm that suddenly had more strength in them, patting Jay's shoulder, "young man, no need to be humble. I am more grateful than you think. How about staying in my territory? Practice Medicine?"

"Um..." Before Jay could even say anything, Lam nodded, "No need to worry either - Emily will arrange everything."

Emily, the young wife, was surprised too for a moment, but soon the surprise disappeared, "Yes."

She looked towards him, "Mr?"

"J."

"Mr. Jay, please come with me."
