When Jay opened his eyes, his head was still ringing, but it didn't take long for him to focus. Agnessa's face was right over his, "You are awake, My Lord."
She said with her hands caressing his chest. Sitting on his waist, with a naked Vivian beside her. Vivian had red eyes as if she had been crying for some time.
He tried to raise his body, but his body didn't move. Realizing something, he looked at Agnessa, "Poison?"
"Yes, My Lord!" Agnessa seemed happy he recognized his situation so soon. She bit her lips, her ass squeezed down on his waist. Her nails brushed against her skin, "You see, the moment I saw you. I wanted you so badly! But I needed you dead. After all, you knew my secret. You understand why I did this, right?"
"Yeah," Jay said, but soon his eyes sharped.
Agnessa smiled, "I knew you would." She bent down - just when she was about to lick his neck, she trembled. She could feel a cold gaze watching her, "try that, and I'd rip your tongue out."
Agnessa pulled her tongue back - with a weak smile, she looked at him, "My Lord, even when you are like this, I can't go against you...will you tell me why?"
"It's quite simple," His hand moved, grabbing her neck, "because you have good instincts."
Agnessa widened her eyes, holding his arms with both her hands, trying to struggle, "My..." She choked, holding his hand with both of hers, trying her best to get free.
"The only reason you are alive is because of those Instincts. Otherwise, you'd be dead in the cave."
His face seemed disappointed - he threw her on the floor, "Well, I was expecting something sharper."
*Cough*Cough*
Coughing, Agnessa tried to raise her body - while on her knees and a hand holding her neck. While the others trying to keep her body from falling, she looked up, "Forgive me..." *Cough*
Jay sighed, "I was hoping for something better. Shouldn't you should have tried decapitating in my sleep? Using Vivian to plunge a dagger in my heart or something like that. Just a paralysis poison? That was stupid." As a hero, there were plenty of times he had been poisoned. Something like a paralysis poison was kids play. What surprised him was that it affected him at all.
Jay glanced at her, "Prepare a carriage - I want to go to a nobles territory, preferably one that is about to be disbanded or is falling... This was a waste of time."
Agnessa stood on her feet - her legs were still shaking, "Hehehehe... I don't understand you, My Lord."
Jay laid back down on the bed, staring at the roof, "I was hoping you'd be more ruthless...no wonder you lost the succession battle."
Agnessa bit her lips but didn't say anything, "I'll prepare a carriage - there are a few noble families that are being suppressed by the current King. They were strong supporters of Father and Crown Prince. You can choose to start with them or someone who's already in King's good graces. Which one would you like, My Lord?"
"The one in the good graces? How good?"
"On occasions, his young wife sleeps with the king, with his permission, of course."
"His young wife? Is she too young, or is he too old?"
"Too old."
"Does he have an heir?"
"No, My Lord."
"What happens if he dies of natural causes?"
"The territory would go to the King."
