His aura seemed to have changed - it made the air heavier. It seemed to have turned into quicksand, suffocating everyone on the battlefield.
"Come, let me kill all of you." He drew out his sword, challenging them to war against him, and only him.
Countess Victoria Palmer stared at the tall man with black hair, red eyes, a pretty face walking towards them.
The air around her seemed to be suffocating her, and not only her. Her soldiers, many, were already on their knees.
Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself down. Countess Victoria walked forward until she was an arms distance from Jay, who was waiting for her to take her sword out.
But instead, she knelt on one knee, "I, Victoria El Palmer, herewith submits to Your Highness, Erstes Übel."
"Victoria!!!! Have you gone mad!!! Betraying his majesty?!!!" Rusell shouted, taking out his sword, but next instance, four sharp blades were pointing at his throat, "Infamous shadow ops..." Duke Rusell muttered. That was all he could say before the scene in front of him turned black.
Next, he opened his eyes - he was in a prison cell, with the men he brought with him, "what happened?"
One of his men came forward, "Duke, you are awake!!"
"Where are we..." Duke asked, rubbing his head.
"We are in traitor Victoria's dungeon. Duke, she betrayed us and joined hands with Ubel!!"
Rusell opened his blurry eyes, "this took a turn for the worst..."
In Victoria's Office,
Jay stood behind her chair, leaning on it, watching the view outside. Jay could see the city, the walls, the flags, the towers, the posts, the flags.
"So, what's with the facade?" He asked the woman standing in the middle of the room, with her head bowed.
She replied to his question with, "I do not understand what Sire is asking."
"You took your 5000 soldiers, matching on a two days trip, for no purpose, but just to surrender. What was that about? Wasting all that military supplies, I don't feel like it was a spontaneous decision."
"No, Sire, It was to show my value. What I can provide you with, even help you take over the Kingdom as soon as possible." Victoria explained.
Jay glanced back, "Why?"
"Sire, the day you started your first reform in Egerton's territory. I had decided, if you could reach my territory with an army threatening me, I will submit to you."
"And I will ask again, why?"
"Sire, how much do you know about Niverah and Crimson Kingdoms?"
"Barely the surface news."
"Then Sire mustn't have known Niverah is centuries ahead of us while Crimson feels like another world on its own."
Jay turned back, sitting on Victoria's chair, "Interesting, tell me everything."
"Sire, you know about Rifts?"
"Yes, I do." He gestured her to sit down, which she did.
Victoria nodded, "then this would be easier - outsiders from the rift were captured by First Progenitor and turned into loyal vampires. All their knowledge belonged to him. Which made Crimson Kingdom progress by at least five centuries. Niverah's last queen married her daughter to the Elf princess of that time, now the queen, also combined their cultures. Elfs found it easy to manipulate these outsiders and make their culture progress by a few centuries."
