Luca was sitting at his desk thinking of
the best way to tell his son the truth about what he and Rodney did eighteen years ago.

Hell, Adele and Paris didn't know at first, and if it weren't for the Chinese Mafia, Xerxes and Riley would have known sooner.

Now Luca knew he didn't have a choice. He needed to tell his Xerxes about his and Riley betrothed, but it was up to Rodney to spill the shit it to his daughter.

The deal was made because the two of them already saw that X had claimed Riley, and the older they got, it showed.

Luca sighed, thinking of the mess they made as he sat back, rubbing his temples looking over the papers that he had drawn up for Rodney to sign all of them years ago as he thought back on it.

"Yo, Luca, can I speak to you?" Rodney asked, walking into his office, looking around to see if he saw Adele. Luca nodded, pointing at the seat in front of his desk.

Rodney was saving him from the paperwork that his father left for his restaurants. "Yeah, what's up?"

"Look, I know you just buried your Dad, but I wanted to talk to you about X."

Luca sat down his papers giving the man his full attention. Wondering what he had to say about his son as he watched Rodney rub his hand across the top of his head with a sigh.

"I'm new to this shit Luca, but I want my daughter to marry to a good man, and I know that you and Dele will raise your children to be that—"

"Hold up. Are you asking to betrothed Xerxes to Riley?"

"Well yeah, the boy is overprotective of her already at the age of one. I know they like two years apart, but I think they will be good for one another."

Luca started at Rodney for a long moment. He knew that he had promised Adele that they wouldn't promise their children to anyone.

Rodney and Paris were different to him. They were family, and betrothing Riley to X was just making that real.

"You have to know that I promise my wife that I wouldn't betroth our children to anyone—one the other hand, Riley can be an exception. So was it you or Paris that came up with this idea?"

"Paris doesn't know yet. I wanted to talk to you about it first. You and Johan are always telling me to grow some balls and act like a Don. This is me acting like a Don, making sure my daughter has a good husband and one I know I can trust as our new Don when it is time,"

Rodney said, making Luca nodding as he continued to think of how they should go about this. He had to find a way to tell Adele without upsetting her.

"I will have our lawyer draw up the contacts for us both to sign and you to have a copy of, but don't say anything to Adele. I want to be the one that tells her. I have to find the right way. Adele's crazy as fuck, and I don't want her to kill you or me, as a matter of fact. So, if you tell Paris tell her not to say anything to Dele."

"Damn Luca, I didn't think you were scared of anything. Shit, I stand corrected. Adele got yo ass scared, though," Rodney said laughed, making Luca glare at his ass. He wasn't scared of Adele. He just didn't like being on your bad side.

"Go the hell, Rodney."

"Shiiiiit, Luca, we already there," He said, making himself and Luca start laughing as Victor walked in, looking at the two crazy.

Luca sighed again, admitting to himself how he and Rodney made the wrong call, not telling Xerxes and Riley.

Having them believe that X was meant to marry Jia Li at the time, they both thought it was the right idea.

After seeing how they took matters into their own hands and how Xerxes turned out, they both knew they were wrong.

"So, you going to tell him the truth?" Rodney asked, walking into the office sitting in the chair across from his desk.

"I think it's only right that they know. Are you going to tell Ri?" Luca said as Rodney tilted his head over to the side, slowly nodding.

"But I think we should tell Xerxes first he's a little easier to deal with right now."

Rodney was referring to his daughter's psycho mood swings which reminded Luca of Adele and Paris. Neither memory was good.

"You right. We also need to make X pick a ring, plus they need to wed before our granddaughter arrives. This will be the first heir to the Brooks-Kohler line, and she will not enter this world without her parents being married. I will allow X a month to propose and four to marry no more than that."

Rodney nodded as Luca texted his daughter to whip up something to get Xerxes to meet them. Then he called the family's jeweler to meet them there with his most expensive rings, as he pulled Xerxes black card from his desk.

"You know this is our fault— Riley being pregnant. If we never interfered—"

"Your wrong, Rodney. They've been fucking for eight months, almost a year. Both give it up to each other. It was bound to fucking happen."
