I want to go beyond the mansion's gates.

I gazed outside the huge window, looking down at the garden. It was full of flowers, a pathway that leads to leafy arches with lamps leading to the dome-shaped garden.
I always run there whenever I have free time, it makes me feel like a princess who'll run away from her destiny that she doesn't want. The beautiful sight calms me down, the freshness without any plastics beside me.
Beside this huge castle-like mansion makes me feel choked, I feel trapped as I've never stepped outside even just once. I'm always here, in this suffocating mansion.
I feel trapped and I despise the feeling of being locked in this enormous cage.
I want to be free.
Although this is my 'fate' that my parents made, but this is my life. I've been planning my escape for days, I never wanted to marry the mayor's son. I never met nor know the man but they forced me to him.
I don't want that, that is not love. In fairytales, the prince shows up saving the princess from distress but I don't have one. I can't just wait for a prince or I'll be stuck with someone who does not care about me at all.
I assume that they wanted my family's money. I shook my head, looking down at my fingers as I played with them. I'm currently standing in front of many maids, getting my measurements for the upcoming arranged marriage.
I was forced to be here, I must escape. It's my only chance to grab that tiny chance of freedom that I've yearned for all these years.
"Excuse me, I'm tired from standing. Can I request tea and biscuits? While we wait, please have some rest. I wish to be alone,"
They all stopped, bowing their heads at me before leaving one by one. As the last maid closed the door shut, I let out a relieved sigh, lifting my gown towards the table. I grabbed the shears and cut the bottom off my light blue gown.
This is it, the plan's been executed. I grabbed my most comfortable flats, exchanging my heels. I looked around, going to my door, and locked it shut, pushing the cabinet to cover. I panted, hurriedly went to the wall beside my bed.
I looked around my boring room for the last time, smiling bitterly.
"Goodbye, I'm gonna leave this cage,"
I faced the wall again, pushing a piece of the brick wall and it revealed a secret passage that I found a week ago. The passage leads to the backdoor towards the forest beside the mansion. I went inside, grabbing the nearby torch, and closed the passageway.
I ran, I ran as fast as I can. Pushing my legs further, gasping as I see light. A smile broke out from my face, running faster. The light brightened, then I realized that I'm finally outside.
I happily laughed, the wind playing with my hair as I pushed the tree branches away from my path. I was going in no particular direction, adrenaline is pumping through my veins.
I'm starting to fall in love with this unfamiliar feeling, I feel like I'm being freed.
I love it.
"Lady Jennie!"
I flinched, my heart started to race and that made me run faster. I don't want to be caught, I don't want to go back. I want to discover this world full of unfamiliarity, where it's not a textbook.
