"Aww~ Is it allowed to be this sweet in church? Ya, Jungoo, marry me soon okay?!" A voice cried out, we abruptly looked back to see the whole gang crying on the chairs behind us.
Well, most of them.
"I was about to shit my pants when he pulled out the gun," Hoseok-oppa shuddered, hugging himself.
"We already warned Taehyung to bring a gun in case, but he just rushed in without thinking. I wonder why," Jisoo-unnie spoke up, tapping her chin while Seokjin-oppa laughed beside her.
"You guys should stop—" Taehyung spoke up, covering the lower part of his face as he looked away, embarrassed.
"We rushed to see you, Jennie, we were just more subtle than this lover boy," Jimin smirked, patting Taehyung's shoulders with a fat grin on his lips.
"We also called the police outside when he started pulling out the gun, a good thing that Jimin was too short to be noticed—" Chaeyoung explained, not forgetting to tease her boyfriend with a grin of her own, while her boyfriend's lips frowned, blushing.
"I might be short compared to these guys, but don't forget that I'm taller than you, Jebal," he whispered beside her ear, and we manage to hear it still.
"Stop flirting, I can't take it anymore," Yoongi-oppa interrupted, pulling the lovers away and pushed them outside.
"Lovers be gone!" the single ass shouted before he grumbled, going back to his seat.
We all laughed at the scene, and sooner, they bid their farewell to have some rest since they rushed here without any sleep.
I opened the enormous glass door and immediately sat on a nearby chair.
I took out a deep breath, sitting on the chair at the 'supposedly' grand reception. The white lilies along with white fabric beautified the ballroom from the ceiling to the floor decorations.
The money spent on this fancy wedding could have fed many stomachs or rather, should have been returned to their rightful owners.
Taehyung was outside with the police, along with his father. They don't have a great relationship as Taehyung stated, but they stood as mutuals for their company.
I was served with a tray of fruits to lighten the mood, I barely took a bite. Well...barely stopping myself from stress eating.
I mean, you can't just reject food!
Food is innocent, it has no faults.
"Hey," I turned my head to see Song Kang pulling out the chair beside me and sat down, his gaze on his table centerpiece.
"Hey," I replied, following his gaze.
A deafening silence took over, I looked away with a pursed lips. The events earlier weren't exactly pleasant on both sides.
I let out a sigh. "I'm sorry...my father shouldn't have—"
"Didn't Taehyung already told to not blame yourself?" he frowned, flicking my forehead.
"Ouch!" I exclaimed, covering my forehead.
"I didn't send Taehyung a secret letter for you to say sorry about that bastard's mistakes," he frowned further, squinting his gaze at me as I looked away.
"Why did you do that? Didn't you say you liked me?" I questioned in a lower whisper. He let out a subtle sigh before chuckling.
"I do, and if you really like a person. You'll do anything for their happiness, even more than yourself. Liking someone makes you selfless..." he replied, caressing my head gently as I slowly turned to face him.
"I know you two like each other, if only I knew earlier before my father announced that they found my fiance, which happened to be you. I wouldn't have gone here to Japan, the wedding wouldn't push through...yet it was too late. Everything was set, and I had to think of a plan."
He explained, lowering his eyes. "I liked you too much to give Taehyung an invitation card with a hidden letter. As much as I wanted to marry you, I know that you won't be happy with me, as a lifetime partner..." he smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. It looked pained, forced even.
I lifted my hand and placed it on top of his. He looked up as our gazes locked, I gave him a small smile.
"I'm really thankful that you like me, Kang. If it weren't for you, many people would have been hurt. I do hope that you'll meet the lady for you, please be happy not for me, but yourself..."
"Thank you for hearing me out Jennie, although I was rejected, it doesn't feel that bad," he laughed before I pulled him in a hug.
Tears hit my shoulders as his body shook, I pursed my lips and pulled him tighter with my eyes closed. "Thank you, Song Kang, thank you so much..." I cried out.
He let out a laugh, hugging me back tightly. "Time can heal, let's just trust the process. Everything will be alright."
A thought entered inside my head as I realized another thing.
Liking someone doesn't mean that feelings should always be reciprocated or forced, as if it does happen, it is most likely to fall apart.
People can't force feelings, as people can't force us what to do to deprive of their rights of freedom.
Freedom associates with the choice to like or not like a person.
Like Mr. Kim shouldn't have forced or blackmailed my mother to marry him. In the end, it was one-sided.
If you want a love that is everlasting and true, don't force a person to feel something. Let their hearts do it for you.
If that person is your love, then he will be. Without any reasons, without any contracts, just with feelings alone is real.
As I said, liking someone can't always be reciprocated. Liking someone makes you selfless, if not, is that really love?
I hope and pray that someday, he'll find the one for him. A woman that is willing to be selfless for him, as he will be with her.
A woman that makes him happy.
I know that it will take some time to move on from someone, I'll always be beside him when he needs me. I am his trusted partner after all.
"I'll always be with you, partner," I whispered, rubbing his back in comfort.
"Thanks, partner."
We might have been contracted partners, but it doesn't mean that his feelings changed. It wouldn't change the friendship that we have build.
So, thank you, Song Kang.

With only two chapters left, what do you feel about BEYOND THE MANSION'S GATES's will be ending soon?
I want to cry, I really like this book to be honest. A mix of modern and medieval, kinda like a time travel but without a time machine in a modern setting.
I will talk more about that in the epilogue, I might have made this message too long if I continue HAHAHAHA
Oh, I almost forgot. I already started publishing my 4th book, The Girl On The Sidelines with 3 chapters posted. Go check it out now!
Anyways, see you in the last 2 chapters!
