"What the hell happened with your gown?!" father entered the room in rage while the maids were still putting the pieces together.

I hid a chuckle after seeing his expression, he deserves it after all.

I gave him a side glance, lowering my head. "I had no idea, father. Do you perhaps have any enemies that planned on ruining your daughter's wedding?" I questioned him as his vein appeared on his neck.

He rubbed his temples together, mother barged inside the room in a hurry. She went behind father and whispered beside him an ear, trying to calm him while giving me a side glance.

"You should calm down, dear. The wedding will begin in an hour. We should let the maids do their thing if we want it to be on time..." she assured the old man who grunted under his breath as they both left the room.

But mother went back and hugged me tightly. "I'm so sorry that I couldn't stop the wedding, your father was too persistent..." she cried on my shoulder, hugging me tightly. My eyes teared up, hugging him back tightly.

"You tried your best, mom. That's the best thing that you could do for me. Perhaps this is what destiny had for me," I consoled her, pulling back from the hug and gave her a small smile.

"I'll be fine, I'm a strong woman. This will pass through," I kissed her forehead, wanting my mother to have all the emotional support that she needs in her life.

In life, it will never breeze through your plans. Like the wind, it will go in different directions as every path has a different purpose.

I looked up to the ceiling, the maids continued their work in tightening the corset.

I wonder how everyone is doing, I hope that they're happier now that they won't have any problems.

"Lady Jennie, it's time for the makeup. Please step down from the podium and follow us," the maid spoke gently, bowing down.

I nodded my head and slowly went down the podium, my feet bringing me to the golden vintage vanity mirror. I gazed at my reflection in the mirror while the maids started to pamper my face with make-up.

My eyes were dull, barely any light was seen in my brown orbs. My lips were pale and eye bags were seen under my eyes.

I looked less lively than I did before.

"Lady Jennie, what eye shadow would you prefer—"

"Brown," I interrupted, closing my eyes while waiting for them to apply the make-up.

What?

It's a wedding, I must be at least pretty instead of sulking about it.

Being a Kim taught me that you don't always get what you want, but live on with it.

Well, that's what father made me accept the reality of a noblewoman.

"You look perfect, Lady Jennie!"

"Splendid, very beautiful!"

"You'll be the best bride there is!"

I gave the maids a small smile as they showered me with praises. My eyes gazed up at the vanity mirror to see myself, seeing a different woman.

I immediately looked away to avoid thinking those thoughts that sought freedom. If I add more, he might hurt them again.

I didn't regret dying the wedding gown black, it perfectly describes the wedding well.

"The carriage is ready downstairs, young heiress," the butler spoke after knocking on the door. The maids started to gush, straightening the veil and the black gown. I rose from my seat and exited my chambers, walking down the royal staircase.

My face remained blank when they opened the doors revealing a white carriage, adorned with white roses. I stepped up in the carriage, preparing myself to face the destiny that I've been preparing for all my life.

It's time for me to get married to a person that wanted me to pretend to be his lover, to be his actual fiancee.

What an ironic of events.

The carriage started to move, my eyes glancing outside the window to see the sunset in view. The trees were passing as the wind brushed off fast.

Before I knew it, I stood before the altar with Song Kang beside me.

He was wearing a white suit with a white rose on his pockets, his hair was gelled to the side to show off his handsome features.

The church was adorned with white and white flowers, laces and other decorations.

No wonder father got angry when he found out that the gown got dyed black.

"Dear friends and family, we are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the union of Jennie Ruby Jane Kim and Song Kang in marriage, " the priest started and my mind started to get clouded, I couldn't hear anything.

It started to get...real.

Reality started to sink in, I'm getting married after all. I swore to myself that I wouldn't cry anymore, I spent too many tears these past few days.

I've already passed the stages of grief, from sadness to anger to...finally accepting that reality is the only option we have in life.

Dreams for a person like me is impossible, we are chained up to our family's rules without any option or freedom.

We are the puppets that will help them rise in both power and money, a mere pawns.

I hope that every child would not get through this. No one deserves to get through this, even Song Kang himself.

I turned my body, seeing my mother crying with regret in her eyes meanwhile father wore a smug look on his face. I lowered my head, letting out an audible sigh from my lips.

"This Sacred Matrimony will be the union of the families Kim and Song. May their marriage last a lifetime filled with prosperous blessings and happiness from times to come."

My hand gripped the bouquet tightly, stopping myself from crying. I couldn't help but feel my heartbreak.

It really is happening, huh?

"Song Kang, do you take Jennie Ruby Jane Kim to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honour her all the days of your life?"

So, Hi. I know that I said that I'll be back in a week since I'm sick but I felt guilty for not writing. I'm starting to feel better but my allergies and cough are still present.

Don't worry about me, I'll just continue taking meds and not sleep late I'll be okay.

See you in the next update, my loves ❤️
