Detention and dates

Kaede's POV

"Shuichi??" I say. "We should probably take him to the nurses office " Rantaro says as he picks Shuichi up. Oh my goddd Rantaro is so strong.

Kokichi's POV

I can't stand watching Rantaro hold Shuichi. He's MINE. I walk over to Rantaro and say "I'll take Shuichi ". "Move out of the way" Rantaro says "make me!" I say obnoxiously. I take Shuichi from Rantaro's arms and I fall to the ground. Rantaro starts laughing and I give him a death stare. I then look at Shuichi-Chan's gorgeous face.. "Damnm" I say quietly. I try to lift Shuichi again and I manage to get him on my back and I take him to the nurses office. By the time I get there, my body is really tired. I sit down to take a breather as the nurse takes care of Shuichi. I start fantasizing about me and Shuichi but my thoughts get interrupted by the final bell and the loud stampede of students running as fast as they can out of the building. I would be running with them if it wasn't for that stupid hotheaded teacher. Why do some people have to be such party-poopers! Pretty soon Shuichi wakes up and I get to stay with him for about 15 minutes until Kaede walks in. "Hey guys! Oh Shuichi! I'm so glad your ok!" Thats when I realize something, Shuichi doesn't know that I placed the dead frog in the toilet. Well, I guess that can wait for later. Shuichi sits up and asks what happened. I hesitate and say "you passed out from fear in the bathroom from nerves" I mean I'm not lying, but I'm not exactly telling the truth. "Kaede opens her big mouth and says, "nerves? No, you passed out from fear after finding a dead frog in the toilet". "What! Dead frog! How does a dead frog get in the toilet!" Shuichi says. Wow, thanks a lot Kaede. "Well that's an interesting story, Kokic-" thankfully she got interrupted by the detention monitor opening the door. "Did you find Kokichi, Kaede?" "Yep, he's right here" Kaede says. The detention monitor walks over to Shuichi and he says, "are you feeling better now?" He responds with yes and we all start walking to the detention room that I've seen too many times.

Kaede's POV

We walk into the detention room and the monitor tells us to sit down at an empty desk. We all sit in the back and we read the rules on the whiteboard. Kokichi starts making spit balls and paper airplanes, I think Shuichi is sleeping because his head is on his desk, Rantaro is reading a book, and I am bored out of my mind. I reach into my bag and I find sticky notes and some paper. Yes! Now I can do something! I'm going to make invitations for my party tonight. I write on a sticky note and I pass it to Rantaro.

He sends one back that says "yes! I wouldn't miss your party for the world, I'll start making the invitations right now!". This makes me blush a little bit, and I notice that he's blushing too. I start making the invitations, and they look really good!

Now it's time to decide who I'm inviting, well I'm definitely inviting our friend group, Rantaro, Shuichi, and Kokichi. I guess I can invite the whole grade, because my Parents won't be home, and the neighbors don't care. I decide to break the 'no phones' rule and I post a picture of the invitation to the school website for everyone to see. Now it's all set!

Kokichi's POV

I'm so boredddd. My straw broke so I can't fire any more spitballs at the monitor , which is a disappointment. I guess I can write notes to Shuichi-Chan. I write on a paper, "do you want to ditch this place and hang out tonight?" I fold it into an airplane and I throw it to Shuichi. My usually perfect aim wasn't so perfect and it landed right on top of the monitor's desk. He seems surprised and he picks it up and reads it. Oh no oh no oh no oh noooo. He gets a disturbed look on his face and throws it in the trash. He then looks at the class, I look at the ground trying to direct attention away from me, the last thing I need is another trip to the principal's office. He speaks up and says "I am not at all interested in dating any of you, I'm married and it would also be illegal for me to date a minor. I, going to give you guys a break because I don't feel like dealing with this on the last day of school ". Wow, that was a close one. That could've ended very badly.

Shuichi's POV

I'm such a disappointment, what if my parents find out? I can't let that happen, I need a plan to avoid them. But how am I going to stay away from them? We live in the same house for goodness sake! Well, I guess I have to face it head on right? After what feels like hours, the bell finally rang. We all walk out of the classroom and Kokichi runs, and the monitor yells at him but he just ignores him. We all go to our lockers to get our stuff and we meet outside of the building. "Hi guys!" I say as I join them. Kokichi smiles at me which makes me blush because I secretly like him. He's always joking around that he likes me but I think it's a lie.. and I'd be really embarrassed if he does like me back. Kaede reaches into her bag and takes out what looks like invitations. She hands them out and says " you guys are invited to my beginning of summer party!" Kokichi jokingly says, "of course we're invited, it wouldn't be a party without the crackhead squad!" Rantaro says, "excuse me Kokichi? YOU are the crackhead of the group, not us" we all laugh and I say, "see you crazy people at 6!" "Walk me home Shuichi-Chan!" Kokichi says. "Ok fine" I say. Yes! Finally some alone time with Kokichi! I pretend I'm not super excited and I try to act chill but it's so hard! I just want to pick up Kokichi and scream 'I LOVE YOU' at the top of my lungs. "Bye guys!" I say and Kokichi laughs and says "bye losers!" as we start walking in the direction of Kokichi's house.

Kaede's POV

Shuichi and Kokichi leave and it's now just me and Rantaro. "Those two totally like each other" Rantaro says. "Definitely! They would be such a cute couple " I say. "We should try and set them up" Rantaro says. "Yeah! We could do it at the party with a good old fashioned truth or dare game!" I suggest. "Perfect " he says. We start walking to my house and we talk about stuff like school and our family. Nothing really romantic, but I was blushing the whole time. We get to my house and we start to decorate. We decided to make it a Hawaiian theme party. "We should hang up this banner!" I say. "That's a great idea! It's so festive!" He says. "We should put it right above the snack table" I say. I make my way over to the table and I realize it's too high for me to reach. "Need some help?" He said. "Yeah haha" I say. He comes over and does something I didn't really expect. He picked me up and we both started blushing. I try to focus on hanging the banner but I can't stop thinking about how we are so close.. I successfully get the banner up and he puts me down but he doesn't let go of my waist. I turn towards him and we look each other in the eyes with our bodies inches apart. We are both blushing a lot. We suddenly get interrupted by someone falling off our roof. "Oh my god! " I yell as I run over to the person. Thankfully they only fell a few feet, because my roof isn't very high and they were descending using a rope, but it looks like the the rope broke when they were a few feet from the ground. When I get closer, I realize it's Himiko! "It's magiccccc" she says shakily. "Are you ok?" I say. We help her up and Rantaro says"Why were on Kaede's roof?" It gives me butterflies when he says my name but I try to focus on Himiko and not how I almost kissed Rantaro. "I was attempting the 'teleportation trick' but my rope broke" Himiko says. "Oh geez" I say as I look at the handmade rope. Rantaro then says "but why were you on Kaede's roof and not your own?" She seems mad and she says, "I wanted to practice my grand entrance to the party!". Rantaro seems upset because Himiko's little magic trick ruined our intimate moment, to be honest, I'm upset too. Eventually Himiko gathers her stuff and leaves. We finish putting the decorations up and it looks like this,

After we finish decorating, we tell childhood stories and laugh about everything. Whenever I'm with Rantaro, I feel like I can be myself and relax. It seems like he feels the same way because he acts more relaxed when it's just us. We decide to go inside and watch some Netflix. It's about 4 o'clock so we still have 2 hours until people start arriving. We are about 15 minutes into the movie when I realize we don't have any food. "Hey Rantaro, we don't have any food for the party, do you want to come to the gas station with me?" "Absolutely!". We walk to the gas station and we pick out some food. We got some potato chips, pretzels, and Gatorade. We walk back to my house and finish the movie. We still have some time so we just chill on the couch and talk about everything and anything. It's so nice spending time with Rantaro. I really hope he likes me back.

Rantaro's POV

We are just sitting on the couch talking and I'm having a great time. I decide to take a chance and I say, "I really like spending time with you Kaede, whenever I'm with you it feels like all my problems melt away and I feel truly happy". She blushes and says "I feel the same way Rantaro." My heart is beating so fast and I have butterflies in my stomach. "I like really like you Kaede" before she can respond, I say "do you want to be by girlfriend?" She looks really happy and a big smile comes across her face. "I would absolutely LOVE to be your girlfriend Rantaro". "Well that wasn't too hard" I say. We laugh but after that, we don't really know what to say. "I think people might start arriving soon" Kaede says. "I'm just going to go double check everything ". Kaede leaves and I'm lost in my fantasies..
