Marshall's POV

We laid on the couch watching Polar Express. "I swear that little boy likes her." She said wrapping a present. "I know. I don't like how Santa has to take credit for our gifts for a little while longer." "I don't mind as long as they don't start calling him daddy." "You gotta point." I said looking at her. We stacked the presents under the tree and quietly walked upstairs turning off the movie. Hailie, Whitney, Alaina, Eric, and Selene were laid out on the floor in our room. Marissa smirked at them and put Eric and Selene in the bed. She picked up Whitney taking her to her room leaving me to drag Alaina and Hailie to bed. When I came back she was laying down with the children. I laid down on her side and then feel asleep.

CHRISTMAS

"MIMI! DADDY! Wake up we have presents!" Whitney, Hailie, and Alaina said jumping up and down. Selene curled up against Marissa trying to block out the noise. Eric woke up looking at me. "Quiet." He said flipping over. "Daddy, MIMI! Get up." I stood up. "Momma." Eric groaned. "Make them stop." Marissa woke up and picked up the chilly beans. (way of saying Children) "Let's go." She said walking ahead of everyone. They grabbed all of their presents and took turns opening them. Selene got a couple of new outfits from Marissa's Godmother Manny and Eric got a match of some clothes in my closet from Taryn. And when the girls finished we all walked upstairs to our rooms so we could nap. A little after that Kim got the kids so we could go through some of the stuff in storage. Tara had ventured over to watch Eric and Selene. I was unpacking a box that said 1995-1998. Our pictures, video tapes, favorite CD's, movies from that time period packed up so neatly in the box. "Babe." I said. She walked over. "Oh the box. Don't you remember we packed it up right before we went to the hotel." "No." She looked down. "I don't know how I remember. I was just strung out on so much shit." She said wiping her closed eyes. "It was fun then but overboard now." She looked over the stuff before taking the box. "Where you going?" "I'm putting it in our room." She said. She must've ran up and down the stairs because she was back within a minute. She walked back to her spot and we worked only speaking few times about the contents in the boxes. "Marshall remember on our second date." "Oh lord." "When that guy spilled that lemonade on my dress and you scratched me earlier." She said coming up behind me. "I am so sorry about that." I said kissing her lightly. "Wait what made you think about it?" "We were getting our picture taken and then at that exact moment the guy started to spill the lemonade. " She said showing the picture. "Holy shit." I reached in my pocket pulling out my wallet. "I got the same thing." I showed her. "How long have you had that wallet?" She asked feeling the leather. "The day before I met you. I was drunk." "Yay. You know this is the last box." She said looking at the label. "Marshall and Marissa's childhood items." She read. "We didn't know each other until '95." We opened the box and there was a picture of me when I was 10 and she was 5. "I don't remember because we were so little." I said looking at the back of the picture. "Marshall Mathers and Marissa Cirillo (his best friend) in November 1982." She snuggled up to me opening the journal. "Marshall this is yours." She said handing it to me. "October 31,1982

My best friend in the entire world is moving from here in Missouri to Michigan and she's leaving me with my mother. Urghgggg. She gave me her favorite teddy bear, blanket, and her picture." I said looking at the stuff I mentioned. "Damn. I guess we blocked it out." She said packing up the box we walked up the stairs. We looked at the two separate boxes. "Marshall." She said grabbing a box from the closet. "I packed this up when I was 15 look what it says." "Marissa and Marshall's stuff." We opened it up and there journals, pictures, and a jacket. "I remember I was outside one day on the porch with Taryn and Tara. Fuckin' 32 degree weather in the snow we walked by and Proofy and you were on the way to the same store so, you had two jackets and give me one so I wasn't cold. I asked for your name when you left but, I guess you couldn't hear me. It still smells like that cologne you used to wear." She said smelling the shirt then, passing it to me. "You're right." I said putting the journal's and scrapbooks on the bookshelf. "It's like our parents didn't want us to know about each other." "Because, they hated each other from what I remember." I said helping her put the boxes in the closet. She turned around. "Well, today has been interesting." She voice soft and slow. We walked to the mirror and looked at each other. "We make a cute little couple." She said as Taryn walked in. "I don't mean to interrupt y'all little conversation but, lunch is ready." "We'll be right down." Marissa said looking at me. Taryn walked downstairs and she hugged me. "Thanks for doing this with me." She said something bothering her. "What's wrong?" I asked helping her sit down. "Maybe had we known about this we'd have less questions and more answers." She said allowing me to pull her into a hug. "Devil's Night in 1995." I instantly laughed. "I almost died. I had to jump the fuck out the building on to a fuckin' car and I didn't know you and your friends followed us." "I was talking with Bizarre about some stuff I look over and see you jump out on the car catch a football and walked to the swing set so ofcourse I had to check on you." She said standing up. "Let's go eat." She said pulling me up.
