About a hour later Marissa walked with me to her apartment. When we got there pictures of her modeling were spread thoroughly through the place. "Sorry. I'm putting together a book for my soon-to-be job." She said taking down the line that held over 20 photos right then. "It's fine." She turned around. "Are you going to spend the night?" Marissa asked walking to the closet. "I can." I said placing my duffel bag on the floor. She walked me to a guest room. "Here you go." She said walking out. I walked around the room before getting comfortable on the floor. I grabbed a pen and pad writting the lyrics. When I looked up she was standing in the door way in a nightdress and robe. She looked at me. "I'm bored." She said walking to me. "What's your favorite type of music other than rap?" She asked. "Rock. What's yours?" "Classcial." She said laying on the bed with me. "What's your sign?" I asked. "Do Not Enter." I snorted. "Can I show you something?" She asked. "Anything." She grabbed my arm and walked into her room. "I can't sleep alone so, my friend brought me a big ass teddy bear. Can you be my bear tonight." She holding the bear tightly and I saw a fear in her eyes. "Okay." She hugged me dropping the bear. I laid down beside her.
Morning
When I woke up we were on the floor on other. Classical was playing softy in the background. "The floor is hard and pointy." She mumbled. I smirked putting her on the bed. We sat on different sides of each other. She looked out the window. "Marshall, you want breakfast." I thought about the last time I ate which was two days ago. "Yes, please." I said looking at her. "Okay. Take a shower and I'll make you breakfast." She said walking to the kitchen.
20 minutes later
When I got dressed and came out she wasn't in the kitchen so, I walked into her room. She was getting dressed in a tube top and a skirt. "You do know it's cold in November through March?" I asked as she turned around. "I'm not going any where but, to a photoshoot later. So yes." She said walking back to the kitchen. I sat at her dining table and she brought me a plate. "You workin' overtime?" She asked sitting down at the table. "Nope my only day off." I said. She looked at me concerned. "Where do you live?" She asked. "8 mile." She noticed the annoyance in my voice and finished. "Your welcome here anytime." She said bubbly. "Do you do this with all your guy friends?" I asked. "Nope just you." She was a little offended. "How did you know my name yesterday." "I asked Deshaun." She said. "I gotta go this job but, can you come with me." She said grabbing her book and the outfits. "I'll drive." I said grabbing the keys. We raced down the stairs and into the car. I felt her hand incase in mine. "Favorite Color?" She asked randomly. "Blue. What's yours?" "Green." I smirked. "You smile a lot." She pointed out. "You ask a lot of questions." "I'm a perfectionist. So, I feel I have to ask tons and tons of questions to be that." She had a point. "Like when I go into meet the photographer and I go. 'Hi, I'm Marissa Cirillo. How many sets of pictures are we taking? How many should I include in the book? How many poses do I have to do? Make-up or no make-up?' Like so many questions." I laughed. "You are really smart." I said parking in front of the place. "Thank you." Marissa said walking to a guy. I sat in her chair while she took some pictures. She walked over to me and then hugged me. "Thank you for coming." She said stressed out. "You're welcome." "Marissa one more set of 12 then you can leave!" The photographer yelled. She walked over to the set and started doing different poses moving to the beat of her own drums. "Perfect Marissa. You can come get the pictures on Thursday." "Thank you David." She said changing into a shirt that said Happy Halloween and jeans. "Okay we can go."
Party
We sat on the porch. Randomness in our conversation. "Marshall." "Yes." "Can I have you for Christmas?" She said in all seriousness. "Why can't you have me now?" She leaned over and kissed me. Warmth filled us in the 32 degree weather. I didn't want to let go. It was clear she didn't want to until we ran out of breath. "I gotta stop by my mom's a-" I started. "Let's go it's getting late."
Ma's House
Two Months Later January 21,1996
Marissa and I walked into the house but, instead my mother was on this dude. "Marshall-" My mother started. "It's fine I came to get my stuff." I said grabbing Marissa's hand. Mom put on some clothes and I heard them talking quietly. I packed everything. My comic books, my clothes, sketch pads, my favorite blanket and walked in to the room. "Marissa." "Marshall, are you moving into her apartment?" My mom questioned. "Yes." I said and Marissa stood. "It was nice meeting you." She said hugging my brother and mother. We walked to the car. She was so tired that she fell asleep on my shoulder.
Apartment
I carried her into her bedroom. I took out the clips and looked at her curled lips and listened to her mumbling my name. I gently removed her jeans before laying next to her.
