Chapter 38 : A Pair Of Wings

Everything was moving so fast yesterday. Like how Alric is Natalie's cousin and how the time past so fast.

"Where are we going Natalie?" I questioned, trying to untie the cloth that was tied around my eyes.

"Somewhere." Natalie answered, not giving the exact location,"even if I told you, it is not like you would know."

I sighed. Why am I even on this kind of quest? Why can't I be those happy girls that hang out with her friends with no troubles in her mind?

"Well, we are also reaching there." Alric informed.

That guy............

"What do you think about my cousin? Is he nice? Gentle? Or what?" Natalie suddenly shot out her questions.

How....... how am I supposed to answer this?

"Umm......... I don't really know him, but judging from the first time we met, he is quire nice and kind." I answered,"why did you ask?"

I could hear Natalie laughing. "What is so funny?"

"Well, it is a surprise that my cousin can be 'so' kind and helpful, usually to me he is like an asshole trying to act nice but always fails." Natalie described her cousin in her own ways.

Looks like that is only the outer covering.

"We are here." Natalie announced, untying the knot.

I opened my eyes.

"So what do you think? Looks like a warm cozy house doesn't it?" Natalie questioned, smiling like a cheshire cat.

I stared at the "home" that was in front of me. What should I say? If I say it looks nothing but a mountain, would she kill me? Or should I just say it really looks like a cozy home?

"So?"

Ummmmm............

"Natalie, I am sorry but this doesn't look like a home at all. It is just a gargantic mountain." I replied, telling the truth.

Natalie laughed. "It is obviously a mountain, just that you haven't seen what is inside of it yet." She winked, walking forward towards the mountain.

Wait, there is something inside?

Natalie moved forward, reaching out her hands for the stone that formed the mountain. "Welcome to the lost home."

She pressed against the smooth, hard stone, pushing it.

Nothing happened. ........ I thought something is supposed to happen?

I turned my eyes, looking away from the boring sight. As I slowly turned my head around, I spotted something, something usual. A half magenta and pale blue flower.

What is this?.......... it looks so gorgeous!

"Aquarius, what are you waiting for? Come in! " I could hear Natalie's voice calling, from a far.

I turned around. "Oh.......Oh I am coming! " I replied, dashing towards her before turning to look at the mountain that was in front of me.

The mountain opened a door. "Well?" Natalie asked while walking straight in.

I stood rooted to the ground, totally bewildered. "Come on Rius, we got a lot to show you." Alric's voice traveled through my ear, waking me back to my sense.

"Hey! Stop calling me Rius!" I reminded, walking pass him.

I ran up to Natalie, who was already inside, waiting for us. "It sure took long enough for you two to just get in the mountain. Is the door too small?" Natalie questioned.

I smiled sheepishly. Hehe.

Natalie continued walking forward, hurrying. "Aquarius, hurry up, if you want your answers." Natalie told me, pulling my hand.

Okay.

I ran beside her. But seriously, her speed was so fast that I had to use a lot of energy to catch up, otherwise I would have fallen down.

"Ah!" I slipped, letting off my grip to Natalie's hand,"NATALIE!"

Natalie turned around, trying to move back to save me. "HELP!" I called out.

Somehow we were not running on the ground as I had thought. I took a quick glance, only to see that we were already 20 meters above ground.

"Help Please!" I tried to scream as loud as I could.

Natalie was coming for me, but her speed was not as fast as the speed I was falling. Help...........

I shut my eyes, not wanting to look at my outcome of falling onto the ground. "Yes!" I could hear Natalie shouting through the high distance.

I slowly opened my eyes. What is happening?

I stared towards the ground. I am not falling! I am moving up!

I looked to my side. Oh.

Alric was lifting his fingers, twirling it around and around. "What Rius, not so happy that I saved you?" He questioned, smiling.

"Oh yes I am not happy."

With my sentence complete, I immediately fell. "AHHHHHHH!" I screamed as I fell again.

"Well you just have to say save me and I will. "Alric told me, flying beside me,"so, are you going to make a decision or just keep falling until you reach the ground?"

I looked at Natalie, who watched with horror. "Alric, save her!" She yelled anxiously.

Alric looked at her innocently. "But she say that she didn't want me to save her, so I am waiting for her to say so." Alric explained,"did I do something wrong?"

Natalie looked reluctant, but she proceeded to open her mouth. "Aquarius, just say save me and he would ! " Natalie bawled towards me.

I stared at Natalie, then at Alric. Am I really depending on them to save me?

I shut my eyes, ready to accept my fate. I rather die than let a stupid guy bring me back up.

Above I could hear Natalie roar. "Stop being stubborn and just accept his help. You know I can't help you in air situations. You can only depend on him. Please Aquarius, you got to do this." Natalie coaxed, trying to make me talk.

I will never.

I curled myself up, shutting myself from the outside world. Slowly, Natalie's voice disappeared from my hearing. I can do this myself . I don't need Kirmonds to help me, I can survive by myself.

I imagined. Imagining about an angel's delicate wings sprouting from my back. A one of a kind wings, with all its glory, shining outstandingly.

"Aquarius!" I heard Natalie's voice.

I immediately stretched forward, flying up. I knew it, I can do this.

I continued flying, reaching out for Natalie's outstretched hands. I can do this, I can definitely do this.

Suddenly, a shadow appeared. "Alric!" Natalie's voice rang through the air.

"So you could fly?" He let his purple dust fly around my wings, surcuring it in place.

"Now lets see what you can do without wings. But be mindful of time too, or else Natalie won't be waiting for you already."
