Chapter 31 : Calculating Days

"So, where are we going now?" I questioned Natalie, who was looking around to find the right direction.

Natalie continued looking. " We will have to travel the long way to the castle since the other way out was filled with guards." She explained calmly.

How did she know that the other way was filled with guards?

" How did you know- I know because that is the quickest way into the forest." Natalie interrupted irritably, explaining before I could even finish my sentence.

Looks like my asking has become annoying.

" So, where are we going?" I repeated the same question, looking out to where Natalie was looking.

" We are going to go north, then east, then south and finally west." Natalie told me, walking off.

Okay........

I followed beside her, walking beside the road. Somewhere not so near the road. We strolled continuously, through roads and more roads.

I wonder why are there no shops and stores? Are we lost? I feel so tired. I wonder how Natalie is able to walk on without feeling tired.

Well, she did say that she guides the escaped prisoners to their destination. Speaking of destination, I hipe that we can make it there without being captured. Otherwise, I can kiss the key goodbye.

" Aquarius! "Natalie's voice rang in my mind.

I looked at her, startled. " What is it?" I asked.

Natalie pointed to the front. There were shops! " Aridance had given you money, right? You can buy anything if you want, but, if you have no more money, then prepare to starve to death." Natalie's face hung an evil grin as she explained.

Creepy..........

I ran to the front, feeling very happy. Although somehow, I feel like I did not even move an inch. " Natalie, let me go!" I struggled to get free.

Too bad I can't. Natalie has magic, while me, nothing. " You have to disguise yourself." Natalie told me, bringing me forward to her with her magic.

Why am I not born with this ability?

" Close-Close your eyes." I shut my eyes closed, waiting for her to change my outfit.

I wonder why do I need to close my eyes?

" Done. Now you can go shopping. " Natalie happily informed.

I hopped towards the shops. This is going to be great! Or at least I hope so.

Yay! Food. There are food everywhere! This is a food paradise! They have sandwiches, fried rice, chicken rice and many more!

I strolled around, taking as many food as I could. Wait, if I buy too much and cannot finish all of them before they spoil, then I would be wasting food! Guess I should buy durable food and just enough for Natalie and me.

I wonder if she needs any? Well, who cares? Buy it just in case.

I went to the counter, with six packets of small bread and four bottles of plain water. Looks like we got to eat healthily.

" 10 rinings please." The lady at the counter told me.

I took out my wallet, taking out 10 rinings. I wonder what is this blue card over here? As I gave it to the lady, she was looking at me with the "okay.........." face. I wonder what is wrong with me? Is it my outfit? Or is it my hair?

I took the money and stuff everything in my bag. Time to gead out and ask some questions.

" Natalie, why was the lady at the counter looking at me with the "okay......." face? Is there something wrong with me?" I questioned, looking at Natalie.

Natalie laughed. " What is so funny?"

Is it my hair? Is it my outfit? Or is it me?

" What is so funny?"I asked again.

Natalie wiped away her tear. The tear of funniness. " The money you are using are already outdated. They are what we used as money a hundred years ago. "Natalie explained.

" So?"

" So this kind of money is rarely used this days. That is why she thought that it was weird for someone to still have the currency used one hundred years ago." Natalie finished.

What?

" What kind of money do you use now?" I queried.

" Did you see the blue card in your wallet? That is the money we use now. The blue cards are Very Rare. They only make a hundreds of these. The money inside is uncountable. So much that it can last you for a whole life." Natalie told me.

Oh, I see. Looks like I need to find out more about this country.

" Did you buy me food?" Natalie asked, looking at my face.

"Yes." I answered.

Natalie grinned, walking on. She is weird.

We continued walking, traceling into different towns, crossing different roads. " Are we there yet?'' I questioned.

Natalie looked at me. " No. We are not even close.'' Natalie explained.

" I thought that you said that we are going to take a small turn to the north, then to the east , to the south and finally to the west." I reminded, swaying from side to side.

So tiring. I should have just gone to the orphanage.

" No. When I said that we are going north, I mean that we are really going to the far end of this country!" Natalie clarified, shaking her head,"if we just took a small turn, we will be captured easily."

" Oh." I replied,"so how long is it going to take for us to just get to the far end?"

Natalie stopped walking, thinking. " About........5 to 7 days?"

What! Traveling straight to the north takes 5 to 7 days! How long is this entire journey?

" You know that Lonac is huge, right? When we get to the north, we will have to travel the the east which will take about 7 to 8 days. To the south, it will take 9 days and finally tp the castle,4 days. If we add up all together, it will be 25 to 28 days in total, about a month." Natalie explained, calculating the number of days it will take us to arrive at the castle.

This is going to be a long month.
