Chapter One = Runaways And Hiding

Hi everyone, we'd like to start by dedicating this Chapter to AnimeAddict2018 whose story we have based this on. Most of the main characters below to her.
Wolf_girl6872 only owns Katy and Brianne also Adrianna who is mentioned, but not seen! And I own Kitty!

Brianne panted, running after her sister and her friend.

"Slow down, I'm not as fast as you two."

Her sister, Katy slowed and stopped she put an arm around Brianne.

"Sorry, we're just nervous to get away."

"I know," Brianne admitted.

"Come on," Kitty said. "There should be a cave up here somewhere. We can hide out for a while."

Kitty was Katy's friend and the main reason why the two girls had the courage to try this. Brianne had done it with her twin sister once but they'd been caught and dragged back home. She hadn't dared to try it again. Even though Adrianna had been taken in by their grandma, she hadn't been able to take Brianne or Katy in. Though Kitty's adopted Mum had offered.

Brianne and Katy began a slow jog and Kitty joined on Brianne's other side.

"Do you think they'll find us?"

"I don't know, Bria," Katy admitted.

"There!" Kitty pointed up ahead where a large cliff rose above the trees a round black hole could be seen from behind a few trunks.

They hurried inside and collapsed in the dark.

Brianne had fallen asleep soon after sitting down, it didn't even bother her that the floor and walls were hard against her back.

Katy pulled her phone out and started to explore the back of the cave. She had to use her torch light though and Kitty reminded her that they didn't know when they'd be able to charge them again. Never mind there wasn't anything back there anyway.

Only some moss which was cold and wet but she thought if they stayed here long term could be pulled up and placed in the sun to dry and used as bedding.

She returned to Kitty. "Do you really think we can do this?"

"Sure. I've done a heap of research and I have a place in mind. I just didn't want to get Brianne's hopes up and then dash them. So, I didn't mention it."

"Im worried about her. What if her back gets infected?"

"She'll be fine Kay," Kitty patted her leg.

Katy smiled slightly and sat down beside her little sister, putting an arm around her. She moved her so Brianne was laying across her legs.

Kitty sat beside her quietly and played with Brianne's hair.

Both the older girls nodded off leaning their head against each other.

When they woke, the sky was getting dark.

"Should we keep moving?" Katy asked.

"We don't know when we'll find more shelter, this is probably the safest place for now," Kitty answered. "Let's stay but we keep watch one of us has to be awake at all times."

"Got it."

"We leave at first light. Be ready," Kitty said. "I'll take first watch."

Kitty sat at the front entrance if the cave while Katy and Brianne slept within. She wasn't sure how long it had been before she started to get drowsy. She paced around the entrance in the dark until even that wasn't working. She woke Brianne, she explained what was wanted of her and said to wake Katy when she couldn't stay awake anymore.
