Oki and Milli were watching figure skating on the couch.

"You and Brianne seemed to get along well," Oki said.

"Yeah. She seems really nice, a bit shy. What were the older girls like?"

"They seemed nice enough. We didn't really talk much about them," Oki confessed. "They like nature so that's a plus to me. Did you know they were camping?"

"Yeah!" Milli replied quickly, "Umm… Its a shame they didn't have any food though. They'll probably have to go home."

Uh… Shouldn't have said that…

"They didn't have any food?"

"Umm… I mean, yeah they did, but they finished it."

"Oh."

Milli nodded, and hoped Oki couldn't see through her.

Oki suspected something was up.

She just didn't know what.

"Milli?" She asked. "If something was wrong you'd tell me right?"

"What if I promised I wouldn't tell?"

"If something is wrong… WeWe should try to make it right. Shouldn't we?"

Milli chewed on her lip. She knew Oki was right but… wouldn't she be betraying a friend?

No of course not Brianne wasn't a friend. She was just a girl Milli barely knew, but for some reason Milli didn't want to betray her trust.

" I- I can't."

"Not even if there was a way to help?"

"Oki," Milli groaned. "Can't we just watch the skating instead of talking about this?"

Oki was willing to let it drop for the moment, but when Natali called them out for dinner. She knew exactly what she had to do.

Milli was tucked in bed ready to sleep for the night when Natali came in.

"Is everything alright, Sweetie?"

"Of course. Why?"

"Well, it's just Oki mentioned that you were being evasive when she asked about those girls today."

"Brianne asked me not to tell anyone and I told her I wouldn't."

"Tell what?"

Milli sighed. "The three of them are runaway's."

"Do you know why?"

Milli shook her head. "No. She didn't say."

"Okay," Natali nodded and fixed the blanket where she'd been sitting.

Then she leaned over and kissed her daughters forehead.

Upstairs, Mark and Oki were curled up in bed.

'Mark?' Oki asked mentally. 'Are you awake?'

'Yeah?'

'Did Katy and Kitty seem weird to you today?'

'Maybe on edge a bit. Why?'

'Milli mentioned after I pressed her that Brianne made her promise not to tell anyone something.'

'What?'

'I don't know. She wouldn't tell me.' Oki chuckled into his mind, 'nevermind though. Gets some sleep. Night Mark.'
