"I naeyongeul girokaeya hamnikka? (Does this need to be recorded?)" Attorney Jang Ye-jun asked as he points towards the camera. The lawyer looks quite anxious of the fact that the interreogation will be recorded, but he knows it is essential. This is interrogative evidence he suppose.
"Protocol, Sonnim (Sir)." A man who is not in the frame replied. The lawyer nodded and pulls his worn out coat closer to his chest, as if finding comfort through it and understanding the essentiality of the camera for the documentation of the interview. He is a lawyer afterall, he should know.
"Dangsineun wae Busaneso jongeuneul gage dweotsseumnikka? (Why were you transferred in Busan?)" The investigator asked directly, no beating around the bushes, straight up, just like what it is supposed to be.
"Kim Jin Kyu jon gomsaga gyolsimhaetkki ttaemunimnida. (Because Ex-Prosecutor Kim Jin Kyu decided to.)" The man replied, his voice changing from anxious to angry. As if the man's name is poison to his tongue
Jennie's ears perked up when she heard her father's name, why is her father involved? What is this supposed to mean? Lisa pauses the video when she noticed Jennie's confusion.
"Are you aware of this?" The doe eyed woman asked. She too, has no idea why Jennie's father seems to always come out in each evidence.
"No. He could be lying though." Jennie replied without looking at Lisa. If this is something corrupted and this man is about to narrate about his father's dirty work, she does not want to believe it.
"Do you want to resume?" Lisa asked carefully, but the feline eyed woman did not answer. So, Lisa pressed the spacebar to let the video play.
"Waeyo? (Why?)" The interviewer asked.
Atty. Jang furrowed his brows and clenched his jaw.
"Mwongareul eunpyeharyogo haesseunikkayo ama nae majimak sagone yongija neun ppaengsoni sagon. (Because he was trying to cover something up. Maybe the suspect on my last case.)" The attorney narrated, clasping his hands together, his uneasiness now replaced with sheer hatred towards the ex-prosecutor.
"Ppaengsoni sagone daehae uinonhae bosigessoyo? (Would you like to discuss the hit and run case, Sir?)" The interviewer asked carefully.
"Naega haeya hanayo? (Do I have to?) Atty. Jang asked back, clearly challenging the investigator.
"Doumi dwel gosimnida, Sonsaengnim. (It might be helpful, Sir.)" The investigator stated. The attorney looked at the person behind the camera, his face neutral, but his anxiousness clearly seeping in. When the attorney did not say anything, the investigator asked again. "Osido geuron iri saenggyotjjyo ppaengsoniyo. (Where did it happen? The hit and run case?)" The investigator asked.
The lawyer clasped his hands, "Odiso geuron iri ironanneunji imi algo goeyo. (I think you already know where it happened.)" He responded, clearly avoiding the topic and the investigator knows what he is trying to do.
"Joayo yogi Busanesoe saenghwareun ottaeyo? (Okay, how is your life here in Busan?)" The investigator asked.
The man furrowed his brows, looked at the camera, then back to the investigator. "Wae nae sasaenghware daehae muroboneun goya? (Why are you asking about my personal life?)"
"Homsanggutkke boisineundeyo yogi baechidwesyotkki ttaemunnil sudo itttane un gol jodo amnida. (You look rough, Sir and I know it might be because you were transferred here.)" The investigator stated with sympathy.
The man chuckled bitterly, "Naneun geuron gose daehae nonhaji annuenda. (I do not discuss such things.)
"Geunyang yojomman gandanhi jipkko nomogagetsseumnida. (I understand, let's just get straight to the point here.)" The interviewer replied. "Bujokjjolhan haengdongiraneun jujange daehan chagimeun nuguege innayo. (Who was responsible for the alleged inappropriate behaviour?)" The interviewer asked directly again, in hopes to hear a response from the attorney.
