Lisa scanned the building in front of her, it is not just some average built building. It is huge, it looks expensive, it looks elegant. It is the big squeaky-clean establishment of Sony Music Entertainment, the music giant who invited her to audition for them and hopefully be one of their potential artists. The doe eyed woman never thought of auditioning, it never really crossed her mind it was just an alibi to be in New York, because she does not want Chaeyoung to think that she took the first flight to New York from Thailand when she heard that the woman is getting married here, she does not want to look pathetic, she wants something to brag about, but then she met Jennie. Jennie, the feline eyed woman whom she never thought she will fall in love with. It is ridiculous to think that she had fallen in love, but she is. It is as if Jennie made her fall in love in just a snap of the feline eyed woman's fingers. The woman who opened her eyes of how much of a loser she is, not that she was not already aware of, but Jennie saying it on her face made a difference. She should not lose this opportunity. Lisa was not interested at all anymore, until Jennie told her to and now, here she is.
She pursed her lips at the thought of the feline eyed woman. One and a half hour ago, the South Korean born woman took the train back to her husband, back to Boston, back to where she belongs, home. Lisa gripped inside her coat pocket, feet fidgeting against the cold hard cement ground, as she uttered a short prayer. Not for the audition to go well but she prayed that Jennie would see her number which she had written on a piece of paper and carefully placed it inside the feline eyed woman's coat pocket. Her hopes are not skyrocketing but she is hoping, even if she knew that things between Jennie and her husband could be fixed, she still hoped. She hoped for Jennie's call, and if she will not, she will still keep on waiting, until they meet again.
Lisa took a deep breath and entered the building. Cream white tiled floor, white colored walls, different sizes of bright circular fluorescent lights, heightening the brightness of the building, is what the doe eyed woman see upon entering the huge establishment. Plush smart looking red sofas and orange chairs scattered around the lobby, a large LED TV situated at the center of the room randomly flashing pictures and videos of Sony Music Entertainment Artists, and there behind the large white solid marble table with the company logo etched across it, is a woman busily browsing on her large mac computer, while frantically talking on someone on the phone, she looks busy, but Lisa could not careless, she wants this audition to be over.
She approached the woman. The woman did not acknowledge her at first for she is to busy doing her job, so the doe eyed woman tapped on the marble surface. The woman stopped on her tracks and looked at her, with a kind smile on her face. The Thai woman offered her with a flat-lined smile.
"I am looking for Mr. Samuel Connor." Lisa said, sounding unsure as she shuffles through her coat pocket, rummaging her patch for the small rectangular card the man gave her.
When Lisa gets a hold of it, she quickly gave the card at the woman in the front desk. The woman examined the card carefully, squinting at it, examining the paper used to make it, inspecting the graphical structure and design of the card, as if finding a small patch of authenticity on it. The woman stopped when she touched the embossed part of the card, which resembles Mr. Connor's signature. The woman looked at Lisa when she she's certain the card is authentic. She nodded.
"Just a minute." The woman replied and dialed a number on the telephone. Lisa pursed her lips and waited patiently, entertaining herself with the videos shown in the LED TV.
"What is your name?" The woman asked, one hand gripping the principal part of the telephone, the other covering the other end of it.
"Lalisa Manoban."
