"W-what about my dad?" I asked, looking at him nervously.
"You know how he was charged and sentenced for some time behind bars?" Michael asked.
I nodded.
Michael sighed a little. "He's getting out in a couple of days."
My heart stopped and I felt my stomach start to churn. No...no...no...please no.
Michael kept his eyes on me as I brought my knees closer to my chest, starting to feel like I couldn't breathe.
"Sam?"
I didn't respond. To lost in my thoughts.
Michael moved to squat down in front of me. Taking my hands into his own.
"Sam baby. Look at me."
I looked at him nervously.
"You know that we won't let him see you again. You're safe now. He can't hurt you." Michael said.
I nodded a little. "B-but why is he getting out?" I asked.
Michael frowned. "I don't know sweetheart. I don't like that he is getting out either."
I wrapped my arms around Michael's neck, starting to cry. He held me close, rubbing my back.
"You're safe Sam. I promise. "
I nodded, keeping a tight grip on his shirt.

When I woke up the next morning, I groaned hearing my alarm. After turning it off, I laid there, not wanting to get up yet.Michael knocked on the door, opening it a little.
"Sam hun, time to get up."
I sat up, rubbing my eyes. Michael turned the light on.
"I'll go start breakfast for you." He said before heading downstairs.
I got up and changed before putting on a bit of makeup. After getting my bag and stuff together, I headed downstairs.
I ate breakfast and then got my shoes on. Michael grabbed his keys before driving me to school.
The ride was kinda quiet since both of us were still tired.
"Have a good day Sam. Love you." Michael said as I got out.
"Love you too."
I closed the door and headed inside.
My morning started off pretty good until I found out I failed two tests which brought two of my grades down. I crumbled them up and then went to lunch and sat quietly, talking a little with my friend Amy.
When the day ended, Mike picked me up and asked how my day was. I lied and told him that it was good.
He drove us home and then I headed to my room where I threw my bag on the bed. The tears started to stream down my face. Many would say that failing two tests isn't a big deal but when you're a A+ student its different.
I knew that I had failed because I didn't study enough. I was too worried with other stuff going on in my life.
After I calmed down and washed my face, I sat down on my bed and scrolled through my phone until I saw a random number pop up on my screen. I clicked it.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Sam?"
I felt my heart start to race, recognizing the voice.
Oh shit.
