Chapter 6 - The Battle Of Naboo

The ship landed in the swamps. They gathered by the edge of the lake waiting for Jar Jar to return from underwater Gungan city. It was still unclear to everyone as to what the Queen's plan was. All she had revealed is that she wanted to speak with the Gungan General even after both Panaka and Qui-Gon urged her not too.

Qui-Gon stood alone awaiting the Gungan's return, Obi Wan approached his master,  "Jar Jar is on his way to the Gungan city, Master." 

"Good." Qui-Gon replied shortly, an uncomfortable silence fell upon the two. Obi Wan was the one to break it.

"Do you think the Queen's idea will work?" he asked, still upset about his master offering to train Anakin.

"The Gungans will not easily be swayed," Qui-Gon replied, his gaze firmly fixed on the lake, "and we cannot use our power to help her."

Obi Wan turned to his master, "I'm... I'm sorry for my behavior, Master. It is not my place to disagree with you about the boy... and I am grateful you think I am ready to take the trials." 

"You've been a good apprentice, Obi-Wan," the older Jedi replied, a small smile appearing on his face "and you're a much wiser man than I am. I foresee you will become a great Jedi Knight." he placed his hand on his shoulder.

Moments later, a dark shape broke the surface of the water with a splash, and Jar Jar Binks climbed from the lake, shaking water from his amphibious skin onto the assembled. Long ears dripping, billed mouth shedding water like a duck's, he shook his head worriedly.

"Dare-sa nobody dare. Da Gungan city is diserted." His eyestalks swiveled. "Some kinda fight, mesa tinks."

"Do you think they have been taken to the camps?" Obi Wan asked his master.

"More likely they were wiped out," Panaka retorted. But Jar Jar shook his head. 

"Mesa no tink so." Jar Jar replied. Qui-Gon stepped towards him. 

"Do you know where they are, Jar Jar?" he asked

"When in trouble, Gungans go to sacred place. Mesa show you. C'mon, mesa show you." the Gungan answered, motioned for them to follow her.

They made their way through the swamp for some time along the lake, venturing deeper into a forest. Eventually, they emerged at a clearing in the tall grass. Jar Jar stopped, sniffed the air speculatively, and nodded. Suddenly another Gungan, to which Jar Jar referred to as Captain Tarpals. He then led them further, towards the leader of the Gungans

"You Honor, Queen Amidala of the Naboo." Captain Tarpals presented as Queen Amidala walked past him, Captain Panaka beside her. The Jedi and the twins behind her with some guards.

"Ah, ello dare, ye big Boss Nass, You Honor." Jar Jar spoke happily, waving at him.

"Jar Jar Binks, who's da uss-en others??" Boss Nass asked angrily.

The Queen stepped forward, "I am Queen Amidala of the Naboo... I come before you in peace."

"Ah, Naboo biggen. Yousa bringen da Mackineeks... Yousa all bombad." he bellowed, his arm pointed at the woman.

"We have searched you out 'cause we wish to form an alliance..." the queen continued suddenly, Padme pulled away from the group and stepped between the queen and Captain Panaka.
