The pitch black dark had spread its wings everywhere. It was the darkest of the dark nights, something you rarely notice. All of the humans were back to their own homes because they knew that this time doesnot belong to them, it belongs to someone who are deadlier and dangerous enough for them. When the whole world was fast asleep in their safe cocoons, from the window of the castle that stood in the middle of the london, someone was staring at the dark sky and was not at all afraid of the dark. Infact the darkness was what fascinated him. He had spent all his life without any fear of responsibility. Being the royal blood he had all the priviliges and luxuries that others would only dream of. There was not a single thing that he demanded and didn't get except his urge to interact with co-surviving species HUMANS ! If there was anything that amused him that were humans. Now he felt like it was the time for his this very unique wish to be fulfilled. He'll meet the 'real' humans at college and not the ones that would follow them and behave like loyal dogs waging their tails around them. If he gets a chance he'll try to befriend them only if they don't get scared of him. A wide smile fell on his face and his eyes lit up thinking of beginning of his new life.
Footsteps of someone nearing him snapped him out if his thoughts. He got alert as the person was about to reach his room. The door of his room slowly opened and he turned around to find Nan entering his room.
"Hasn't anyone told you to knock the door before entering someone's room?", he narrowed his eyes.
"Oh Shut up !! I don't need permission to enter my brother's room." She said.
"You do need. What if I was with a girl.", he smirked.
"I'll still walk in without any permission because.." she paused to ruffle his hairs, "I know you have never brought any girl home."
"Hey don't touch my hairs."he said jerking his head back and looked in the mirror to fix his hairs. Nan throws her head back and laughed at his obsession of perfect hairs. Zaun rolled his eyes and stood there with his arms crossed. "You better stop laughing and tell me why you were here at this late hours?"
She stopped laughing and suddenly realised the motive behind her visit to him."Ohh Shit I forgot to tell ya. Dad wants to see you immediately."
"Immediately? Now?", he asked curiously.
"Yepp.."she said popping the 'P'
"Okay I'll be there in a second."he said to her. She flipped her hairs and turned around towards the door. Before walking out of the door she quickly looked over at Zayn. "Wanna race?", she playfully smiled and in reply she got a scowl from him.
"What are we? Three year old kids?" He said.
"Okay I'll take that as a No." She said out of dissapointment. She was about to leave the room and shut the door behind but in the split of a second Zayn rushed past her like a lightening bolt leaving her surprised. Wasting no time she too paced her way down toward the room where the king was waiting for both of them. But she was too late to match the extraordinary speed of Zayn. He was already outside the room where his dad was. He looked at Nan from the corner of his eye and smirked."Cheater." Nan mouthed.
"Calling me a cheater because I won? Ha.. Loser." He poked out his tongue to tease her.
"I'm not a loser."she pouted.
Their father cleared his throat and both Nan and Zayn silenced. "Son." His deep manly voice pierced the silence.
"Yes Dad."Zayn stepped ahead inside the room.
Felix, their dad, nodded to Nan who quickly understood his gesture and left the room. Before leaving she glanced at Zayn and pokes her tongue out and rushed away leaving him to smile at the innocence of his sister.
Felix takes slow and heavy steps toward the nearby large brown leather chair and sat on it. Zayn kept standing and continuously kept shifting his gaze from the cherry coloured walls to the windows, that were shut since this place was built, and then back to the walls. He felt sorry for the room and everything that resided here because this whole place was completely shut down from the beautiful outer world. The window that could've brought some fresh air inside this place and inside their hearts was shut forever. The thick dark curtains that were hanging there reminded him of how cold and dark their hearts were. The heart that pumped warmth and emotions in the body of a human were nothing but a degraded junk inside their bodies. Their hearts have forgot what it was like to pump blood and not even the specks of bright moonlight could change their hearts.
"So your classes are starting tomorrow?" Felix' voice brought him back from the series of his thoughts.
"Umm..Yea. I guess." He said looking down at his shiny black boots and wondered how perfect everything in this place was including his shoes..Crystal Clear Clean...Everything was just so perfectly perfect in their life but does he even want it? He questioned himself.
A little imperfection is fine infact imperfection is a necessity. Not everything in this world can be perfect. If everything was perfect, everything would get so boring and fell out of place. A little iperfection is necessary to keep the level of interest in your life.
"Son are you even listening?" Felix asked.
"Uhh. What? NO.. I mean yes." He stuttered. His dad rolled his eyes. "You're the future king of the world. If you keep zoning out like this how'll you even handle your KINGDOM" he said in a stern voice. Zayn didn't answer anything, actually he didn't want to answer to this regular question.
"Anyways I was telling you about this one rule you have to follow while in college." Felix said, calming down his tone.
"Rules? Do I have to follow rules even in a COLLEGE?" He groaned.
"Of course you have to. Do you have any problem?" His dad asked.
"No." Zayn gritted his teeth.
"So as i was telling, you can never dare to break this rule. If you do you'll be solely responsible for its consequences." Felix narrowed his eyebrows and the usual colour of his eyed turned more darker reflecting the intensity of his words.
"And what is that Rule?" Zayn asked.
"No useless contacts with humans. Especially Girls. I don't want to see any of that worthless species in my palace or even around you EVER."
Zayn's eyes fell wide opened on hearing his dad's words. He never expected anything like this. But he knew he have to obey his dad no matter what.
" 'course Dad. I'll keep it in mind." He said.
"I expected this." He said and got up from his chair to walk over to his son. He kept his one hand on Zayn's shoulder and patted him. "Well All the best for tomorrow. Remember this rule."
"Sure dad." He replied and Felix went out of the room leaving Zayn all alone there. The light of the room fell out as soon as the door shut behind Felix. There was nothing left in the room except the darkness. Only the pair of brown eyes were twinkling and blinking, and his mind lost deep in some random thoughts.
