Jacqueline quickly entered her home from the back door and locked it carefully. She removed her heels and tiptoed to her room. As soon as she reached her room she locked it and directly fell on her bed. The sun was was now completely out and the sunrays peeped from behind the blinds of her room's window and were scattered in the room making a beautiful pattern. Besides the chirping of the birds, the ticking of the clock was intruding the silence of her room. She quietly listened to every morning sound while she waited for her family to be up. She looked at the clock it was already seven, her mom was probably up by then as she have to leave for her job soon but jacqueline was yet not to leave her room as her daily waking up time is eight.
Restless, she got up and headed toward the bathroom. She peeled out of her clothes and turned on the shower. Instead of getting in the shower she stretched her right hand under the warm splash of water letting her hand consume the heat of the water for a much longer time. Slowly she stepped inside and closed her eyes letting the warm water fall all over her, washing every tiny part of her body. Suddenly a stinging pain hit her entire head as darkness fell before her eyes. Her head spun making her feel dizzy. She grabbed the walls to help her from falling. With the severe headache her mind flipped back to the strange memories of her past that were now a constant view in her nightmares. The picture of her lifeless dad lying infront of her will never get out of her head. One thing that she knew she won't forget was the face of the cruel murderer. It is strange how even after so many years she remembered every detail of that face. Everything was crystal clear in her mind. Everytime these images hit her head it brought with it a severe pain not only in her head but in her heart too, pain that had no cure. Surprisingly these anger filled eyes had thought of a way to cure this pain and it was PAYBACK !!

"What are these weird wailing noises?", Jacqueling growled with anger as she was getting down the stairs.
"Good morning Jacky.", her mom greeted ignoring her question.
"Good morning mom.", she went to the kitchen and kissed her mom on her cheeks. Her mom smiled and went on making breakfast.
"Seriously these noises are getting on my nerves." Cursing the disturbances in her mind she left the kitchen and went to sit around the table for breakfast. The noises coming from next door got more louder and clearer. A lady's shrill cries were spread everywhere.
"Show some sympathy toward that lady my angry young sister. The guards had taken her husband away.", her brother who was sitting across her said.
"Why?", she curiously asked.
"He once worked for the royal family but was caught betraying them. He was giving off inside information about security panel and all to their enemies.", Tristan answered. Their mother who was now out of the kitchen shot him a glare indicating him to be quiet. But the brown haired boy chose to ignore his mom's stare.
"Do you know where do they take such prisoners?", she asked.
"Nope.", he said popping the 'p'.
She turned toward her mom to ask the same question but Lauren shrugged her shoulders and said in a low voice, "I don't know." But the twitch on her face showed that she was lying.
"But." Tristan spoke but paused to take a bite from the bacon and continued with his mouth full, "I've heard that every criminal is taken to the palace and presented to the king. There is only one punishment and that is." He brought his face near his sister and said in almost a whisper,"Death.", his green eyes darted at her and he sat back and continued, "No one has ever returned back."
"Bloody suckers !", Jacky spat. Her blood boiled everytime she heard of any such incident when a human is dreadfully killed by the vampires.
"Correction BLOOD SUCKERS.", Tristan laughed.
Lauren who was listening patiently to her both kids now spoke up. "Ssshh. Enough. If anyone hear it we'll be in trouble. You both be quiet and eat your breakfast. I've to leave soon.", she silenced her kids who were now quietly eating their breakfast.
She knew how cruel this world has turned into. She have seen the worst. But alongside, she tried her best to keep her children safe and away from all danger. She've kept her promise that she once made with her husband. She had promised to keep her children safe. She raised them well and tried her utmost to give them proper education and fulfilled all their demands. Though the wages she received through her job of a music teacher were not too high to lead a lavish life but they were enough to raise well a small family of three. Moreover she never wished for unwanted luxuried for her kids as that might have only spoiled them. She was proud that her kids had grown into strong human beings.
However there was one thing that worried her the most and that was her daughter, Jacqueline. After what she saw that night, the nightmares had troubled her almost regularly. Earlier she used to run to her everytime she had a nightmare but as she grew up she had stopped discussing about them. She always looked calm from her face but Lauren feared that Behind the calmest person hides the loudest screams.
