Chapter Eleven

Here we were, seven people, discussing the end of a nation. Milim, for some reason, had obliterated and kidnapped the BeastMaster of Yuurazania, Demon Lord Karion. We were here to discuss the circumstances surrounding the event. Still, Tempest had been receiving and treating the refugees with the utmost care by Bester. They have been stationed nearby the Cave of Seals for the moment. The Beastketeer that was leading them refugees had been refraining from greeting Rimuru even when Benimaru had urged them to, back when Rimuru first awakened. I guess they don't want to intrude upon our happiness.

'Regarding your evolution to Demon Lord, we wish to express our sincerest congratulations. Rimuru-sama,' Albis began as they humbly bowed to us.

'I have heard about the refugees. It must be hard for you, but I'm glad that you guys are safe,' Rimuru replied and they said their thanks. 'Let me hear it, what happened in Yuurazania?'

'To start, I, the Black Leopard Phobio, will tell you the story,' Phobio began. 'A little less than a week ago Yuurazania received a declaration of war from Demon Lord Milim. We have prepared troops to provide support to Karion-sama but instead, he ordered us to take the refugees and guide them to Tempest as he faced Milim-sama alone. A week later, Demon Lord Milim came as the forewarning said. Thus the battle between the two began. When I said battle, it was mostly one-sided. Even when Karion-sama fully transformed, he didn't even manage to scratch her. Then, Demon Lord Milim launched a full-on magic attack on us, the whole city was annihilated in one strike. I escaped that magnitude of attack with a severe injury and when I come to, another Demon Lord came and incapacitated Karion-sama. It was the Queen of the Sky, Demon Lord Frey. Then, she took Karion-sama and left.'

'I see, I know the full story now,' Rimuru said before he turned pale. 'But I can see that you were safe, fortunately enough. After you got swept away by Milim's attack...'

'I almost died but I managed to come here with a warp portal. Thank you for giving us recovery potions,' said Phobio.

'If they took him away, he's probably still alive. I'll lend you my strength for a rescue,' Rimuru determined.

'But I don't get this, I don't understand why she would do something that unsettling. She wouldn't go to a stranger's country and declare war, at first sight, much less a friend's country. This is not how she would behave,' I said.

'I know right?' Rimuru concurred.

'Talking about strange things, I don't get why Frey let Phobio go,' Sphia interjected. 'Harpies have sharp eyes so sharp they can shoot their prey from the loftiest of heights. There's no way the ruler of the harpies, the Sky Queen herself, didn't see Phobio.'

'Shion, bring Myulan to me and a map as well,' said Rimuru, to which she gladly went. While we waited, we feasted upon ourselves the divine tea brewed by Shuna. After Myulan's arrival, Rimuru immediately told her about Yuurazania's circumstances before he grilled her about the four demon lords conspiring to make a True Demon Lord that they can control.

'Yes, that's for sure. Clayman made contact to plan with Demon Lord Milim,' said Myulan. 'This is merely my speculation, but, Milim-sama's declaration of war is outside of expectations, so he must have been taken aback.'

'Wa- wait a minute! Are you talking about Demon Lord Clayman? Are you saying that Demon Lord controlled her to drive Yuurazania to extinction?' Albis was stunned by the revelation but I was seething.

'That name has been popping on a lot more recently,' I gritted. 'I want to skin him alive, right now.'

'Ah, how wondrous! To be named and get to see my God torture a man alive, please bring me along,' Diablo passionately said.
