There were steps leading up towards a monument to which i followed cautiously, my mind racing around like a go-kart, thinking about all the things that lay ahead of me. My footsteps could just about be heard and my ears had a small ringing sensation that left me some what deaf. My shirt, that was slightly burned from the ashes and flames a while ago, had been slightly torn a little further, revealing more of my torso, which had turned a ghostly pale. It seemed that with every step that i took, it felt like my skin was burning but as i tried to calm myself down a small conversation could be heard. "Something has come up sir.." peering over the top of the steps, two silhouettes were cast in front of me with a bright beam of light shining over the both of them. Ok, what are you two talking about? I thought. As i listened, i tried to make out what they were saying. "Our statistics show that a mortal hasn't been converted into a soul and pass through this place." "So..?"
"What do you mean so? This soul could propose a threat to the rest of the people that YOU have control over." "..."
"You know, we could just switch to a more "drastic" approach to the situation."  "NO. As the ruler of this place, it is my job to see to the problem myself, you know that, don't you...?"
"Y-yes but if we could do it ourselves, then you would be able to stay here, rule over all of us, including your daughter and you wouldn't have to leave the palace."  " well, when you put it like that, that does sound nice than anticipated."
"Definitely sir. This place is like your home. With all the power that you would think isn't imaginable." "Yes, but there's just one problem."
"What is it?" "Your wrong."
"W-what?"
"The thing is, you anger me to the point that something has to be done. Something personal. So i'm grabbing my machete."
"Sir. Please don't."
"Shut up."
"S-sir—AAHH"
Holy sh*t. With my own two eyes, i witnessed a murder. The weapon had changed from silver to a bloody red in a matter of seconds. I think i was going to faint but resolved to just stumbling backwards. Or forwards. The lifeless corpse was dragged away, with a trail of blood left along the chiselled ground. Just my luck. My heart started burning in my chest whilst i was still peering over the stairs of death and the person left in the centre if the room looked in my direction. "OI!"
F*ck. i sprinted down the steps  but as i was just about to start running faster, i tripped over my own two feet, hitting my head hard on the ground. Turning my body onto my back, i heard the familiar voice say, "you're pretty brave to show your face around here."
That was the last thing i heard before i blacked out.
