I started this story and journey a year ago after hearing a friend of mine mention Watt pad to me during a lesson at school, and I decided on a book to create based completely on imagination. I never had any prompts, it was just me and my mind that motivated me into making this happen, and I have never had this much fun creating my own story before. I have written short stories when I was younger, but I never thought this would happen. Throughout writing the chapters, I thought about possible outcomes and decisions that the characters would go through, including Hunters choices to disobey society even though when he died. When it came to writing their own descriptions, I try to make as descriptive as possible so that you could imagine what they looked like. When I started this, I originally wanted to keep the storyline basic because I never planned out what would happen in each chapter, even working for multiple hours to create something that would make me feel as if I was part of it despite having my fingers hurt because of how long I'd work on it. I don't want to think of making these things as a bad thing, but rather as an improvement for other experiences that some younger generations of children hopefully have the same opportunity of doing.
When I was a kid, we did a competition during first school, because of world book day (I live in the UK) which included writing more than 5,000 words and I remember counting every single word after each lesson which probably kick started all of this. Over the course of 3-4 years, I have written 3 scripts, two of which are incomplete, as well another story that was a little cringe worthy that I'm not too keen about simply because it didn't make sense.
I want to thank everyone who read the chapters and experienced the same thing that I went through, the joy of not only reading it, but also being part of the world of devils meadow. This has been a dream come true for me, as I never thought that people would actually take time to read something that I once believed wasn't worthy enough to be read.
Thank you to the people who begged me to write the next part in chapter 1, I think that might have the quickest response for me to keep going with the story otherwise I might have lost motivation to continue.
To my two friends that started this journey in the first place, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, I never would've realised that was would be the outcome of a year's worth work.
If anyone told me that 2 years ago I would create a story for people to read, I probably would've laughed in their face, before realising that they were serious.
I am forever grateful that you have enjoyed this story in general, and I'm looking forward to starting the new world "a second life" which will most likely start early next year. I don't have an exact date planned out yet, but I promise I'll take it easy on myself.
Thanks for reading, sincerely,
H.
