Within a split second the wolf leaped out from behind the bushes and kicked its hind legs up into the air. It had the eyes of a tiger and pinned me to the grass, its teeth as sharp as nails almost digging into my body. Blaze stumbled backwards, he was extremely startled and scared, but he stood up tall and stiff just like a statue.
"Oh sh*t!"
"Blaze..what is this thing?! Is... it a wolf?!"
"Technically they're referred to as 'devil dogs' they're extremely dangerous and territorial."
"How do you get them off?!"
"Uhh. They usually get off when you either leave or they kill you first!"
I tried grabbing the creature by the jaw or the ears, but success was an issue.
"BLAZE DO SOMETHING!"
"Uh.. HEY!"
It looked up at blaze, it's eyes piercing his soul, but as his shouts alerted the animal, it looked back at me, where I was trembling with fear, and as it was about to leave, it sunk its razor-blade like teeth into my milky white torso.
"OW!"
The devil dog sped off into the woods beside us, and as we tried processing what had just happened, crimson red liquid was oozing out from my skin.
"Hunter!"
"Well...that could've ended a lot worse."
"Are you okay?!"
"Not particularly. Jeez that hurt a lot."
"Can you stand?"
"....I don't think I can."
"We gotta get you back to the light alter."
"How?"
"I can carry you."
"You're never gonna make it."
"I'm not going to leave you here."
"...okay, but please don't let me die."
"Never in a million dreams."
Blaze picked me up and hoisted me onto his back, and as he started walking back the way we came, he began to hum a gentle tune. It sounded a lot like the songs my mother and father used to sing to me as a kid, and I calmed down as we were walking towards the alter. The clouds loomed overhead, their colour a subtle red and orange. Blaze sped up a little to try and keep me awake but after a while, my eyes began to go heavy, I was about to pass out. My hand soon dropped and swung back and forth and Blaze soon realised that I had blacked out.
"Hunter? HUNTER?! Sh*t."
Blaze soon started jogging with me on his back, and we eventually reached the alter, to which he saw Hades stood proud and tall. He was with another colleague of Crystal and they were having a conversation. Blaze called out, screaming his name and it was only then, he realised that Blaze had just collapsed too.
"Blaze? Hunter? Oh god. Rose get the captain."
She ran off in a hurry and as Hades came to check on us both, he then realised that I was severely injured.
That's a devil dog bite. What have you two gotten yourselves into?
***
"Rose. What are you doing here"
"Blaze... and hunter are back."
"I thought they were going to the gates?"
"Yeah we all did. But that's not the only thing."
"Rose?"
"Hunter is bleeding out."
"What?!"
"Shall I tell your medical team to-?"
"Yea. Definitely. I will be back."
"Ok. MEDICAL TEAM PREPARE THE BEDS!"
I'm on the way you two.

A while after, Crystal came running over, with Hades on his knees hoping we were both okay. She took on look at me, and glanced back at her cousin, with a look of pure concern.
"What the hell happened?!"
"I have no idea. They both came over here like this."
"I have my medical team already setting things up as we speak."
"Ok. But how do we get them there?"
"You take Hunter, I'll take Blaze."
"Okay."
We were both picked up and carried back to the alter where medical staff dressed in fabrics of white and red hurried and rushed out of rooms preparing things for our sanctuary and safety. We entered the room and were placed on our beds and they all gathered needles and drips of IV. I was placed on a ventilator once again and we were both being cautiously watched.
I tried to open my eyes but I wasn't able to. After what seemed forever, I heard the door to the room shut.
